Tantrums and vacuums...

I know what your thinking.......
Why has she got a picture of a vacuum cleaner on her post?????
Now those of you that have struggled in the past with
a useless vacuum cleaner will understand my joy...
My wonderful Hubby came home with this for me yesterday.
I don't know what made him go and get one though, could
it have been the tantrum I was having as I was cursing the vacuum cleaner
and muttering to my self if only I could have a Dyson
my life would be complete...
That's the polite version believe me it wasn't pretty!!!!!!!

Needless to say I have been busy vacuuming and then
doing a little more vacuuming.

I have been doing a little sewing as well but even more unpicking.
This Quilt is not going to beat me no matter how many times
I have to unpick it, IT WILL line up right...

We are still getting lots of lovely rain
it's only been 15mls not alot compared to what the coast
has been getting, every little bit helps though..

At this stage Soccer is still on, which makes the boys happy.
I'll be packing my umbrella and jacket though!!

I hope you all have a great week end

Blessings
Mandy

  2. You lucky girl!
My Old Guy has this exact vacuum... and I WANT ONE TOO!
I keep asking him to bring his around and I think he's getting sick and tired of it... so fingers crossed he buys me one of my own!

  3. OMG - a Dyson!. My daughter has told me about these machines - do ya like it?

Lovely quilt, Mandy. I've just struggled over bias edging on a d##$@@m potholder for the DTE swap. I'm no where NEAR ready for quilting - but would so love to try.

  4. Okay getting them to line up is easier than you think.

    step 1: unpick them again

step2 ; lay them on the ironing board and pin (in out in out) the edges of the blocks so they line up - then pin the seam you need to sew. You may find one is longer than the other put the longer side on top and ease the seam together.

if you haven't managed it by the time I see you in a few weeks bring it with you there are tricks and hints.

As for whoever commented about the bias edging for the potholder there is a fabuous tutorial on the quiltville site have a look at that first!!

Quilting is trial and error (and miles of unpicking) it also means that mistakes are all but forgotten when there is a child lovingly wrapped in it, or a dear friend using it - it is meant to be fun and a love filled activity.
