Not long now.....

So it's really happening Alanah is leaving.....soon....very soon. I think it is starting to sink in that she is going to be so very far away...Ontario Canada is there any-thing further? I have a peace in my heart about this as I believe it is the right choice for her at this time..I have even talked to Sarah, Sarah is the lady to whose house she will be going to. Sarah seems genuine and down to earth, they are so excited for Alanah to be coming over so all will be well....Yep I'll keep telling myself that..We have so much to do, cuddles for a year to make up, kisses to keep, I just find myself starring at her and thinking....you will be a woman when I see you next..O have I said I'm fine ....just fine!!!!!
this week-end my Mum is coming to stay to catch up with Alanah before she goes and the younger ones before school starts back..Lots of relaxing and girl talk for this week end...After 2 crazy weeks just what I need.
Enjoy your week end all....
Blessings
Mandy

  1. Mandy, enjoy your weekend with your Mum and make the most of this special time with Alannah before she goes. What an experience for her to have, how fantastic to be that young and carefree. I think in fact I know I would be feeling so like you if it was Jack or Beth.

  4. From experience as someone who's done it, there is no better experience in life. You come to learn so much about yourself and make memories and friendships that will last a lifetime!

  7. Hi Mandy,

I have been following your blog for a while but don't comment very often.
I live in Ontario, Canada. We are a friendly bunch here. I used to live in Australia and Canadians think very much like Australians.
My email address is sheba_pico at hotmail.com if your daughter has any questions or if you would like to ask me about the area that she will be staying in. I'm married to an Australian and we live in Canada so it can't be that bad can it.
    Thanks,
    Paula

  8. I know exactly how you feel Mandy, my daughter went to live in Canada in 2001. She stayed 5 months in Vancouver then backpacked across to the East coast and down into the USA for another 6 months backpacking. She came home broke but she gained so much from her journey, including a husband! She was always a fairly confident person but became even more sure of herself and gained an inner strength that belies her small stature.
She never once encountered any dangerous situations and found the Canadians and Americans would go out of their way to be kind and helpful.
I know you will miss your little girl, because I sure missed mine, but with email, skype and texting it is easy to keep in close contact. Of course that doesn't mean you won't shed more than a few tears, I know I did.

  9. Hi,
I am Sarah's sister and I wanted you to know how much she is looking forward to meeting Alanna and having her come to care for the girls. We are a pretty close family and are all excited about having an Aussie around. I lived in Australia for a year and it was one of the best years of my life.
Please know your daughter's arrival is eagerly anticipated by all of us!
    Andrea
