Eastersneaked up on me................

So it is Easter this week-end, what happened to February and March I lost them some where...and I havn't even got any easter eggs for the children yet. Here's hoping there is still some in the shops other wise I am in trouble.
This Easter long week end we have a few things planned to do, Good Friday is fishing with the relies. The boys are so Looking forward to this, it has been a while since they have been fishing so it will be a fun day. Cassie is going to Easter fest for the three days her first time so you can imagine the excitement levels there...
Me, I am going to get into the garden. It is time to get my vege garden cleaned up and running, I miss the slow rhythm of going out to the garden daily...I am able to slow down a bit now as my right hand man is back at the workshop....yipeeeeee. Also I my have a buyer for the business, O how good would that be.....I'm already planning what I will do next, lots of ideas going around in my head as there is so much I want to do in life..

Tomorrow is the last day of school for two weeks so I will be home for them with the children, we are ALL looking forward to them and will even be ducking down to Armidale for a few days to visit some dear friends...
But for now it is time to pick the kiddos up from the school bus...
Blessings to all,
Mandy

Come In....

Welcome to the new look Family Room..
Down the stairs we go,Look at all this creams and white.yummmmy, the leather lounge is new I got it for a real bargain, how much you ask well I have to tell you $400 ....now you see why I couldn't leave it there.

The little white coffee table is new as well...reduced from $240 to $120 at LOOT. It has a crack in the top of the wood that is why it was reduced, if they hadn't have shown me I wouldn't even had noticed..

The brown T.V unit to the left is yet to be painted. Below is the laundry which comes off this room..I have new laundry tub and taps also a new toilet down here, toilet is door to the left.
The laundry has always been on bore water and the sink was cruddy and the taps corroded up. Greg always said when ALL the tanks are full we will change the laundry to tank water. Well with all the rain we had they are FULL!!!! The shelves have all been painted white and I love the fresh green and white colour scheme now. If you click laundry on the side bar you will see how it was before.

There is still blinds and curtains to put up and wall hangings to hang but it is coming together. The hardest part is other than the trimmings now all being white the room is basically the same. But believe me it has all been rebuilt..remember those white ant photos ....aghhhh.
Thanks for comming in and having a look, now what room is next??????????
Blessings

A sneak peak.....

This is all you are getting for now......
This is the door leading down into the family room, this door used to be Federation cream as well but all the trimmings downstairs are now Dulux Antique white..The green we got made up as It is a few shades darker than what it was originally. I decided to stick with green as it is complements the garden outside the large windows.... Today the electrician is here putting in the air/ con for down is this room, and I am cleaning it and getting it organized. This is the fun bit isn't it....decorating mmmm love it..
But first I had to have a Mummy moment and show off...
Last night Cassandra and Robertson had a formal night at youth group. They were to get dressed up and have partners for dancing. So grown up...Below(not the best pic) is Robbie getting a award for the""""" Most Chivalrous""""""".....That's right my 12 year old boy is a gentleman.....

I am so very proud of him and I know Greg would be as well, Cassie said all the girls were swooning over him(of course) because of the way he was treating his date for the night.. Boy I wish I was there.. It is good to know living with all the females in the family has payed of he knows how to treat a lady...
Cassandra and her partner for the night.
Robbie and his partner..

Don't they look so darn cute...
Well must go and have fun organizing my room now I've had my brag....

Autumn Cleaning....

The sun has been shinning the last couple of days and today there is a crispness in the air that speaks of Autumn.
This year I never did my spring cleaning because of every-thing that happened in September, so I have decided to do it in Autumn instead. I started yesterday in Williams room. First I ripped up the carpet......boy this felt good, Chloe was home and helped as well..The carpet was old and getting smelly so it had to go. The floors look better all ready with the carpet gone. I am hoping to get the floors sanded later in the year.
So Williams room is all nice and clean from top to bottom, and smells good too.
The work on the family room is complete and the painting has started!!!!!! No more photos until it is all finished...

If the sunny weather keeps up it will be out in the garden all week end for me, I am looking forward to pulling those weeds and getting some veges in the ground...But for today I must go to work....
Blessings

A home day....

Today I was able to stay home.
Thanks to Chloe..............
Chloe went in to work for me today for a couple of hours so I could be home... I got so much done today I even got ALL the lawn mowed inside the yard and out. The washing is all up to date, I got in and gave Cassandras room a good clean. Floors vacuumed and moped..Yep a day well spent doing the day t0 day activities that make being at home a joy. Even though I mowed, the grass was so long that it looks a bit untidy but I'll go over it again later in the week and it will look fine. Tonight I will sit and do a bit more knitting as I am sore from mowing, must be getting old........Tomorrow I have a birthday cake to make as it is Williams birthday on Wednesday, then work for the day.
Now I had better get the table set and tea on the table...
Blessings to all.....

Wet Week-end............

Rain, rain every where, and I am loving it.The sound of rain on the tin roof as I am sleeping, the chill in the air so I need to pull a blanket up..yyummmm...

(our local creek)

It seems like it has been raining for ages and it has 3 weeks now, the creeks are all flowing and the water is starting to clear not the muddy brown from flooding but clear running water..The crossing comes up and goes down...This week-end it can stay up and we can stay flooded in...

(the road to town)

My heart goes out to those in our state of Queensland that have lost homes or had water damage. If only we had the rain with out the devastation...Our dams are starting to fill up all around though and may-be water restrictions will be lifted..

I need to get out and go for a drive around the farm as I think alot of the dams here will be full. It is a good time to see the farm as every-thing is so green and there is plenty of feed for the cattle. So any-one interested in 140 acres in the beautiful valley of the Lockyar.

When I'm sitting on the veranda and all is quiet I can hear a russelling sound and I didn't know what it was, well I have worked it out. It is the sound of grass growing!!!!!! I kid you not...

Above is my dinning room. Well with all the building going on I can not leave clothes in the laundry as they get covered in dust...So with all the wet I have clothes hanging trying to get dry so dinning room to Chinese laundry.

The room is looking good all walls are up and only a coat of plaster to go, it is having trouble setting because of the wet so it is taking a little longer...

I have a link for you all to go and have a look at.http://www.dreamingvintage.blogspot.com/ yes Alanah has started her blog...She now calls it Canadian Nanny Diaries. Drop by and say hello to her.....I won't give you any news on her today I'll let you read for your self.

There will be lots of knitting this week-end and I might even go up to the Old Dairy and clean up and spend some time up there...It has been so long since I have sewed...I think what I like most about the rain is that it forces me to slow down and stop...

I am going to surf blog land and visit alot of friends I havn't in along time as well, I might even do some work on my blog....so much I can do....

Have a wonderful wet week-end....

Mandy

Rainy Days..........

Today we are lucky enough to be staying home as the creeks are up again...1oomls since last night. There was still water in the creek from the last rain 2 weeks ago, so it hasn't taken much for them to come down.Robbie and Cassandra have been getting there assignments all up to date. They of course got onto the subject of home schooling and why can't they do it like there older brother and sisters...Why not indeed only the timing is not right at this point in time...
Lets bake was my real answer to them. We made a cake then our version of a savory loaf off bread or pull-a-part for lunch, it was nice and warm real comfort food in this weather.

and of course lots of knitting in between...The weather is wet and cool and wonderful, I hope you are getting much needed rain where ever you are...

Blessings

Welcoming Autumn....

Slowly, slowly have been the last four days, a time of relaxing and just being home.. Time to bake ,sit in my chair and even do some knitting...O how I have enjoyed the time..A wonderful start to Autumn....I love Autumn it is my favorite season, the turning of the leaves, the cooling of the nights, and so much to do in the garden....
Watching the back room come together as the builder is repairing and replacing walls..I sit with my cuppa and dream about sitting in this room once again, with the Autumn sun coming through the windows. Above you can see though that this window will be closed in to make the spare room more private...

I did do some work though, I got the lawns mowed and the hedges around the pool trimmed. Washing all done and put away before the rain came.

On Saturday I had a lovely day potting up plants for the veranda, lots of colour all around..The bromeliads above I picked up for $10 with the pots, a great bargain...Now they are out catching all this wonderful rain we have been getting..

Saturday Jessica also came home as we had one of her friends engagement party...What a fun night catching up with all the young ones( I feel so old) Below is Jessica Danielle and Ashley sleeping in my bed, I slept in Cassie's and Cassie slept in the fold out bed...
But it was soon over and today back at work.I am going to be busy for the next 4 weeks juggling every-thing but that is O.K as life is a journey and every day is a new day....

Blessings
Mandy
