Back To Normal............

What is Normal?
I ask myself this question many times around here.
Is it the normal to be have havoc all around, always busy with planning the next event.

For now today at least the house is clean, I have found my floors.
Found my kitchen bench and can walk a straight line with out dodging boxes of wedding stuff.

It will be normal I suppose to help my new child bride daughter pack her bedroom up and move
to her new life in Glenn Morgan.
Also Ben has lived here in Donna the Donga so that room will also be packed up.

2 spare rooms you are thinking lucky me, but alas no that is not the case.
My brother has moved here and is staying until he can find his own place. He will move into
Cassie's room.  Robbie wants to move out to Donna so that is that room gone....
What is normal?

I think this is normal
Change
Change is a normal part of your children growing up marrying and leaving home...
Like weather life has seasons and they are always changing.

For now I am going to enjoy having just my 2 boys at home and
visiting my other 5 when I can. Our family is growing and will continue to grow..In fact my eldest David and his wife Karen are expecting a new baby in July...

What is your normal?

Morning Sunshine.

This Morning the sun is shinning in and and making every thing sparkle.
I love the morning sunshine it has a softness and warm glow to it.

Today I am looking after Harry while Chloe has a docs apt, only 4 more weeks until her new baby is born. Every one is getting excited.

I will be spending time watching Harry and may be fit in a little bit of knitting, and if I'm lucky enough to get him asleep catch up on book work.

What are your plans for today?

Mondays...

Happy Monday...
Is Monday a happy day for you or do you get the Monday blues.

Me I have always like Mondays.
The craziness of the weekend is over and I can get in and give this Ole house a good clean..

Boy was this week end busy.
Friday night was the Community barby and Twilight Markets.
Saturday was more Markets in the morning, shop open till 4pm and looking after 2 year old grand son as well.
Phewwwwww

Saturday afternoon Bruce and the guys were busy doing killing......hmmmm that looks wrong what I mean is butchering...much better.
We had 2 sheep One pig and a cow done, and the other boys got there's done as well. Big day for them all.
Then the evening was spent with good friends, cheese and wine....

Harry had fun with all the kids playing. I don't think he has ever had so many around at once.

Sunday morning saw us NOT at church as Harry slept untill 8:30, we must have worn him out.

Lots of early morning cuddles was had by all....

Sunday was spent cleaning out sheds, 3 in all...
What a horrible dirty job, but it is all done and every thing is spick and span
Most impotantly every thing is where it belongs.

This morning saw us up early as William was off to school camp. Thank goodness he is better, he was one sick little boy all last week.

Thats why I enjoy Mondays.
The house is cleaned and shinny, all beds are made and it is so quiet....

Untill they all come home that is....

Enjoy your week

Mid week....

It is Wednesday already, where is he week going.

When I get in and give the house a good clean I like to change things around a bit.

I thought I would do something a little differant with this wall. So I have a collection of my Roses here now.
Still have plates on the other walls as I do like plates on the walls. But I needed a change here.

Still in love with my sweet pink chair, this peice is a keeper for sure.

Say hello to our newest member of the family, her name is Scarlett. Robbie's 17th birthday present she is the sweetest little girl, loves to sleep here on this tray. I don't mind as long as she stays off my pink lounge.

Not getting a lot done today as i have a sick little boy at home as well as a new puppy to play with.

The back yard has been mowed and that is as far as I have got in the yard work...Weeds are still calling out to me.....

I have a new blog now that is Just about my litle Market Shop. It is in the side bar so feel free to hope over and have a look. It is called The Old Dairy Goes Vintage.

Hope you are enjoying your week.

Blessings

Crazy Weekend....

Thank goodness Monday is here.
We have had one crazy weekend, so busy in fact I forgot to even take photos!!!!!!
Yesterday ended with us giving Harry a belated Birthday Party.

I love going on Holidays, but coming home there is always so much catching up to do.

I keep thinking I should still be on the beach some where sipping
G & Ts.....sighhhhhhh

Instead I am washing all cushion covers, cobwebing and dusting...These photos are just keeping it real..

As for the kitchen, closing my eyes as I walk through is working for now.
Lets go outside instead for a look around.

Yep my back garden is over grown, had plenty of rain over the last couple of weeks, and you should see the pool its a lovely swampy shade of green.
I really don't know where to start inside or out, so I made a cuppa and am blogging instead...
Works for me.

Happy Monday Every one.

Changing Rooms.........

Some days you just need a change right....

I thought I would get in and rearrange the Dinning lounge area.
Some days I should stay in bed when I have ideas like this as it is safer...

Before
The TV cabinet was against this wall and now
below I have put some reading chairs there.

I moved the cabinet to the centre wall.
Lounge chair where the dinning table was.

Still trying to figure out where the wood heater will, need to find a new home
for my China cabinet. This seems the only wall for it though, so may-be in a different room.
I just don't know.
Before
Dinning table along front windows now.
All looks so boring.....

Yep hate it..
Spent all morning moving every thing and I don't like it and I'm too tired to move it back
sighhhhhhhh.

So went out and rearranged the front veranda...
Now I'm liking how it's coming together.

So I will have to sit in the newly arranged Lounge room and see if it looks any better...
Have a great week end..
Blessings

Before and After..

Remember these I showed you in an earlier post.
Well they have been sitting around waiting to be put together.

Yes you guessed they are chair seats. When I got my red table for the kitchen I didn't realize that it came with 4 chairs. This is how they looked before (below)

And Now
Nothing like a fresh coat of paint and some bright covers to give some tired old ugly chairs a bright fresh look.
This is the first time I've done chairs and I'm happy with how they turned out.

I was thinking of selling them, but when I made all the new cushions and had material left I new they would look great in here.

I have been using the stool for awhile now but I'm thinking of taking it out and putting chairs back as we are not having 10 for every  meal at the moment...

I love the way the cushions and chairs all match in and bring the much needed colour to these rooms.
Also if you look closely at the lounge chair and the chair in the corner you will see I have placed some yellow sheets on them. I got them from Vinnie's ages ago and love the extra retro look they bring .

As you can see below I did have the white leather ones here. The new chairs are not as high as the leather ones and I think it opens it all up a bit more.

I am so happy with the way this area looks now.

It is a sunny bright area to eat, sew, watch T.V, read in.
Blessings and Have a great week end

A Catch Up......

Hello
I hope every one of you had a blessed Christmas and a Happy New year. Our Christmas was very quiet this year with 3 of the children away.

I closed  the workshop down over Christmas and New year so spent 10 days at home titivating around the house. Soooooo nice to be at home and just be me.

I have cleaned and cooked and read and gardened and done all those lovely things I don,t do enough of any more.

I have been moving furniture around as well, the white cabinet  has found a new home in the kitchen, as you can see above it was near the side door, and below in the kitchen. Not to sure if I like it there yet or not..

A close up of my new stools which i just love. They bring a little touch of modern into this old house, and yet they go with my 1950's red table...

I am looking forward to this new year with 3 grand babies due Jan, Feb and March...No 1 should be here soon we are hoping, well Chloe is hoping it will be soon. I miss having little ones around the place, we love it when Jess brings Grace home to visit, she is the sweetest little girl, I don't like being a long distance Granny but that is life and these children of mine do tend to move away.
I guess that means Greg and I did a alright job with them that they grew up to be independent Men and Women, that aren't afraid to move away and have a life of there own. Hmmmmm getting a little soppy here sorry about that, did I mention I am missing my kids.....

I am now going to catch up with you all and see how your New Year is going...

Blessing to All

Mandy
