Hello to a new week....and a beautiful day.
I do love Autumn weather, the cooler evenings see us coming inside earlier
which means I get much more crocheting done.
Above is a photo of my first crocheted scarf that I made. I started it over Easter while camping, it still has the smell of camp fire in it....
It was a good beginners pattern.
I am nearly finished my next project which is a lamp shade cover, I know it doesn't look like it yet. No pattern for this I am just making it up as I go along....Just got the edging to finish and then I will show you.
I am using Trap Art yarn for this mat. I discovered this while in Ipswich and haven't been able to get any more as no one sells it around us.
So I am now a supplier, my first order should arrive this week....I can't wait to get this finished, I think it will be for the lounge room.
The sewing machine has been brought into the house, as I have no sewing room again....We have Cassie's boyfriend living in Donna the Donga until he goes up north....Over the week end I just had to sew so in every thing came.....I made Kayleigh, Bruce's daughter some pillow cases she wanted.
Do you like my darling tray table, I picked it up last week end for $8, it matches my chair perfectly I think....
Yep I sure do enjoy the earlier evenings see how productive I've been? Mind you the house is a mess and I have 2 baskets of ironing I could be catching up on....Nah tomorrow I think I will go out into the garden....
Blessings

Catch up time......
Hello All.
I can't beleive it's been so long since I blogged.
We had Alanahs baby shower a couple of weeks ago. Alanah is due on the 2nd June so any day now,she might even get the baby on her birthday which is the 29th May.
I hope it's a boy as every thing sure is blue!
By the end of the year I will have 7 grand children as Jessica is expecting her third baby in September...
I am looking forward to Christmas this year, with all the babys.
Sienna is getting chubby as all babys should be, she is such a good little girl and her big brother thinks she is pretty good as well!

I have been making time to get to the op shops and have been getting some lovely things.
I love the pink juicer I picked up and it has pride of place in the kitchen.
The lamp shade is just what I needed for my $1 lamp I got at the markets the other week. I am crocheting a cover for it, it's coming along slowly.
I am going to make a cuppa and catch up with evey one...
Blessings to all

Bedroom Reveal.
The bedroom is done....
I must admit I didn't get to it untill Sunday after church, but now its finnished.
I love it and thankfully Bruce dosen't care what the bedroom looks like as long as he knows where every thing is hahaha men, so easy to please.
I got myself the pineapple lamp from K Mart $20 such a bargin.I covered it in Flamingo wrapping paper my first attempt at decoupaging, and I love it, have thought about painting the base but not sure yet.
I left my chenille bedspread on as the pink goes with the room.
I made a pom-pom banner to hang over the mirrior, and painted a flamingo for the wall.
I have the brass and glass table as my bedside table and moved the desk to Bruce's side so he had plenty of room for his stuff (crap)
I have swaped my dressing table and hall stand around. I love using my hall stand for all my neck laces. I also have my ear-ring holder on the stand as well. More flamingos on the wall. These are fabric wall decals that I have fallen in love with.
My most favorite is my new cane day bed and wall of goodness.
Bruce's daughter Emma saw this Day bed fore sale and let me know about it...I got it for $150 love, love, love it.
It's looks so fab in the bedroom as well.
The wall above was looking a little bare so it was time to shop the house and get creative.
Above is a pineapple print I have had for a while and needed a home. Embroidery hoops with a doily and wallpaper in them. Mirror set of 3 from K Mart $12.
Painting by me, mirrors from set of 3 and brass magazine rack op shopped.
Old Frame that I painted gold, with another print inside, embroidery hoop with wrapping paper and another painting by myself.
I am so happy with how this room turned out....
Now what room next ???????
I am trying to link up

Blogger will not let me add a link arghhhhh

Shop Open
Welcome to 2015
This year I have to decided to follow my dream of opening a shop.
Today is my first day.
A while ago I read a Quote that said
"If you are not doing what you LOVE
then you are wasting your life"
Now I love my life and all that I do. I enjoy craft, soap making, candle making, shopping at op shops and all these fun things.
So why not continue to do this on a wider scale.
I have really enjoyed getting back and doing the markets so opening a shop is a extention of this.
It's a hobby really, that I have so much fun doing that I can fill a shop, so I have!!!!
I won't be open every day just Thursday - Saturday 9:30 -4:30.
We will see what the new year brings and I am going to enjoy my little shop.
HAPPY NEW YEAR ALL

Sofa Love..
Hi all
I couldn't wait to show you my new find, Thursday as I was
doing the op shops I found the perfect sofa.
She is pink, beautiful and all mine.
I am not ashamed to admit that yes I did a little jig, clapping my hands
with glee and jumping up and down when I laid eyes on her.
Those buttons and those perfect legs, and let me say she is in
great condition.
I have been on the look out for a pink 2 seater sofa for this wall,
even green would have been good. It also had to have the velvet look about it.
What do you think?????...
O and I did get other goodies from my day out doing the thrift shops
but they pale in caparison to my
Sofa.

Carnival Week...
This week Toowoomba has been celebrating the
Carnival of Flowers....
We started last Saturday with the Wine and Food festival and the parade.
The wine and food festival is a great week end filled with Great wine, food and live bands...This is our third year of playing tourist in our own home town and we all enjoy the great family weekend.
Monday saw Robbie and William go of to camp for a week so it was only Cassie home for the week.
Monday saw us going to the quilt exhibit. Us being my friend Helen and myself, the quilt below was my favourite out of them all. There were so many but this one caught my eye as the stars were not visible at first until you really looked at it, subtle but brilliant I thought.
Then after lunch it was of to see the gardens, so many to see and ALL of them were outstanding.
Below is a sweet little nook we had a rest in, I could imagine sitting here having a good wine and some cheese.
Colour every where, so many ideas going through my mind as I walked around.
By the time I got home that night I had sore feet and lots of inspiration.....
Wednesday saw
Bruce, Cassie and myself head into the Lockyer Valley to have a look around....We were going to look a a caravan so thought we would look around on the way, we got to look at the van at 3pm....Not getting it as it was bad really bad......Worth the trip though as there is So many amazing shops in this area. Well worth the drive down through Forest Hill and out through Laidley...
So many thrift shops as well I went to 10 all up and got some great finds.
My favourite find of the day was this little shop in Laidley called Potato Studio....So full of some amazing bits and bobs. Below is a taste of what they have with these ceramics....and so much more, I will be going back again.
We stopped at some great little cafes a long the way, they day did seem a bit like a food crawl hahaha
So we came home with no caravan, but lots of goodies from our travels...
This week I will be doing catch up on house work, book work and yard work. Never mind all worth it for the wonderful week we had...
Blessings to All

Thrifting....
I have been on the Op shop hop, and having the best time and getting the best bargains.....
I have gotten lots of vintage sheets and pillow cases, that I love to dress my bed in. I know some people (like my daughters) thinks it is awful to use them but really wash them in napisan and they are clean and so much nicer than you can get today.
Today I picked up lots of little bunnies to do up a Easter display, more of that later.
This necklace is going to be my favorite for Autumn, it goes with some earrings I picked up many years ago from an op shop.
This week I picked up lots of new clothes, this shirt and another still had the price tags on them so haven't even been worn.
Jeans jeans and more jeans. I have got all of my winter wardrobe from the op shops over the last couple of weeks.
Since Christmas I have been on http://changinghabits.com.au/
HCG Protocol, well this has really worked for me and I have lost 13kgs so far. This is why I have needed so many new cloths and I didn't want to spend a lot of money as I still have a long way to go.
Below is my favorite outfit at the moment, this dress cost $3 and I love it.
I know a lot of you out there enjoying the thrift shops as well so I know I am in good company.
Happy thrifting.........
Mandy
