Swap,soap,sitting area and soccer..........

Look what goodies arrived all the way from

New Zealand......They are from my "paper bag" swap partner.

I would love to show you what I sent her only......

I forgot to take a photo!!!!!!I know not the first time.

You can visit and have a look here at what I sent.

I already know what I am going to make from this wonderful
lot of goodies, so I can't wait to
get to the sewing room and start, may-be tomorrow...

Yesterday was crazy, busy for me.

First I had craft where I showed the ladies how to
make soap. They have been wanting to learn for ages.
This time I put some paprika in it for colouring,I love the swirl effect that it gives.
Below is straight out of the mould and above, cut into bars.

After craft it was up to the hospital to see my darling, who
surprised me by getting out of bed and walking around a bit.......
He finely looks like he is on the mend.......the fact that we are
supposed to be leaving on the 23rd of this
month for our yearly fishing holiday probably has a lot to do with it...
At 3p.m it was over to the school to get the children than back to
the hospital to visit there Dad...It took me 1 hour to
get to the school and back at that time of day...
Then home by 5:30 homework and tea....Crawled into bed at 9p.m.

This morning though I felt much better. I let the children sleep in
than took them to school as I had to take Alanah to T.A.F.E
Visited Greg again for awhile, and then look what
I found. My handy man had pulled down the old birdcage and
even set up the table and chairs for me(I love this fellow)
Doesn't it look so much better. Above is the view from
the side veranda, it has opened all the
garden up and made it so neat.
Love it, only it is to cold and windy to sit out there
today and have a cuppa...

Robbie had a great day away on Monday..
They made it to the semi-finals, not bad for a team that
has only had one practice. Here he is in his Toowoomba uniform
with his certificate..

This afternoon I've been catching up on washing, folding

and general housework, but the housework is very patient with

me as no matter how long I take it is still waiting for me.......

Have a great day all

Blessings

A Full Week-end.......

I feel like I spent all week-end at soccer...
Saturday we had the usual games of soccer,
in the cold and wet.
Sunday Robbie had try outs for an under 11 rep team.
At least it wasn't raining on Sunday.just cold..
He made the team so it was all worth it..One happy boy.
Congratulations Robbie....
On the way home we stopped by the markets as they were
closing and look what we found...
Meet Rocky the rooster....
Robbie has wanted to get a new rooster since
Beautiful Bruce dropped dead...
Rocky is very tame and loves to be held.......guess
what I woke up to at 5am though, it was still dark.
I must say he does have a good crow...

In between soccer and birthday party's on Saturday
we got our first beast killed...Now I have to be honest here
I didn't take the photo!!!!!! I couldn't look in the
cold room, Robbie took the photos...you
should see the rest that he took......better you don't, lets
just say 11yr old boy with camera in cold room
I think you get the idea...
Alanah said she is going vegetarian....I will eat it
that's not a problem. In fact knowing that it is our own beef makes
it all the better.
I have to pack it on Tuesday.....I won't be blogging until
Wednesday as Tomorrow will be a full day.

With the weather getting cooler it's time to
get out the flannelet sheets.
The beds are getting to chilly at night now for cotton.
Won't be much longer and we will be lighting the fire place.
Sunday afternoon we cleaned out the fire box
and brought in a large pile of wood. I have decided not
to light it until after the meat is all packed away
though, that way the kitchen is still cool.
The family room becomes my favourite room
in winter. Below you can see how the sun
streams in through all the windows. On the drying rack you
can see some jumpers, it was time to get them out of the cupboard
and wash them all up as well. They dried really fast in
this room...

I'm going to make myself a cuppa coffee
and catch up with what you did on the
week-end now...
Blessings to all....I'll be back Wednesday...

Garden Time

Saturday's are spent at Soccer, it is often a long day
but we enjoy it and the boys love their sports.

We had glorious weather on the week end.
Makes sitting at soccer so much easier when it is warm.
Sunday there was not a hint of wind so
I spent the day in the garden. Yes still mulching.
Where I live I am surrounded by Lucine farmers so
there is usually some-one with cheap mulch.
It seems to be taking me forever to get it on the gardens.
I got 5 round bales and only have 1 to go.

I do tend to get side tracked a lot though.
I pruned a lot of the saliva's and so took some cuttings,
they are the easiest plant to take cuttings from. I just
put 10 or so in the one pot and as they get
bigger I pot them up.
Thanks Linda for the site on Saliva's,
I even managed to find a site that has 100s of photos
of all the different saliva's.
Mine is a vary pale pink, it comes in
the 2 types so I will have to get hold of the hot pink one like yours.
I also found a mail order specialist so I will be
able to order a lot of the ones I can't get here.

The vege garden might look a bit bare in this photo,
as this is where I planted my onions and leeks, they haven't come
up yet though. This is my first time at growing onions.
The beans are doing really well and we are getting enough for tea.
The snow peas are starting to die off now but we are still
getting the odd few.

Here are Robbie and Will at the dentist, we seem to have been spending so much time in
this place lately........William is all finished with his work now.
And Robbie needs to get a filling. His teeth are good ,
William is a different story though.
He's had 5 fillings and 2 teeth removed. Why his teeth are so
bad I have no idea as he eats the same as
the rest of us..

I hope you all enjoyed your week-end
and did every-thing you planed to do............
For me it is time to get this house clean
and then I'll try to get some more mulching done...
Blessings

Vege Garden update..

Do you know what today is??
The first day of soccer season!!!!!!!! That's right, the boys start
soccer practice today, and so that means my life starts to revolve around soccer......
I do have a confession to make here though. Over the years I have come to love the game,
please though don't let my boys know that........

So with soccer comes Autumn, and that means lots of work in the vege garden.
Above is my cherry tomatoes that my brother in-law gave me.
The garden is ready for them to go into now.
Below is part of my herb garden. I have only just planted some
basil out as every-thing had died off.
The mulch around the plants is my first attempt at making compost.
It hadn't all broken down, the bottom was full of the most lovely compost I've ever seen. T he
top still had leaves but that's O.K as I used that as mulch on top of the garden.
As the days get cooler here it is a joy
to be out in the garden and getting it ready for the
months ahead.

Hello to Sherri and Paula and thanks for your comment,
I will be over to visit you later in the day.

Williams corn was a hit for show and tell, I think there is lots of little grade 1s that
want a vege patch now.

I hope you all enjoy your day today
Blessings

My Week-End

This is a photo of my darling little Cindy., who lead a very charmed life until Saturday. While we were at soccer on Saturday we came home to find that some dog had ripped her throat out. We have an idea whose dog it was, and hubby went to see them but they assured us there dog was with them all day. Except it was at our place in the morning and sitting in our shed when we got home!!!!!!!!! I'm sorry that I sound angry but I am still hurting. What a terrible way for such a beautiful animal to die. Even though Cindy was a goat she thought that she was a dog ........really.........she would jump up like the dog. Today I am so glad that I have a blog as I am able to express how I feel before I go up and see the people whose dog it is. I don't want to go up there in anger as I don't think I'm not really the nicest person when I'm angry and hurting.

Thank you for allowing me this out- burst I feel much better after venting.

I took the camera to soccer on Saturday to get these photo of No 2 & No 3 sons playing. No 3 just is so darn cute in his uniform every thing is so big on him still.

No2 son is a great soccer player he is 10 and about a foot shorter then every-one else on his team No2 got a great goal this game as he was a striker this match so he was quite pleased with himself.

Before soccer I had to get the spare room cleaned as my Mother in-law is coming to stay. How do you tell the cat he now has to share his room ?
I really am thankful for being able to ramble on like this today I promise tomorrow I won't..

Until then

Mandy
