Home Day.....

I love my home days...Any one else????

I was supposed to work today so it was such a blessing I didn't have to, so

instead I caught up on odd jobs around the place.

Bread was made..

 

Laundry liquid was made.

I had run out so had to make it before I could do the washing...

My recipe is very simple.

10 litres water

1 cup grated soap

1/2 cup of washing soda

peppermint oil

If you like a powder you can omit the water and blend all together to make a laundry powder.

Then I was able to do the washing.

Next on the list was the airbnb...

It also needed the sheets washed, and a good clean ready for our next guests.

Below is the bathroom for the airbnb...

I got the rest of the seedlings in the vege garden and also planted 

out the salvias I have had to plant out. The green house in empty now 

except for the onions that will get planted on the week end..

I also went up to our local hall and got the little book lending area nice and

clean and into some order...

The little boys thought is was great playing on the play ground, they think it is the

local park, which I spose it is....

The day ended with a fire and some down time, my favorite time....

Tomorrow it is a work day

I only work Wednesday mornings, Thursday afternoon and

all day Friday at our little local post office.

I love it in there and really enjoy my job and the hours are perfect as I can still get so much done at home. I do work a lot of extra hours some times as I was going to this week but glad I did't have to ....

 

I've been busy still......

What a busy couple of days.............

Yesterday was our last craft day, next fortnight we are having our Christmas breakup.

So it was a busy day of mad sewing all day,

and last night I got the hand sewing all done..........My first quilt is all finished and I

am so happy with it..

Sorry I can't show any photos until after Christmas as it is DIL Christmas pressie.

Today I have been in town all day doing the Christmas present shopping.

My feet are sore and my wallet is empty.........

I have only a few bits and pieces to get now.

The children finish school Friday and things will slow down then.

I hope every ones week is going to plan. We are getting more rain at the moment which is a blessing.

A Day In My Life........

I blogged this morning before I realized it was the 14th, never mind ........

As I said earlier I woke up nice and early this morning and got one basket of laundry folded

lunches and breakfast made.

Sat down for a nice cuppa when I realized I hadn't put the washing on. Jumped up and proceeded

to trip down the stairs...

Time to take children to the bus asked 19 yr old to drive them as my foot was throbbing.

Sat down for awhile and rested my foot then thought that I'd do my blog. (1st one)

Finely got the load of washing on.

Then I hobbled out and hung it up.

Foot still sore so again hobbled up to my sewing room and rested there for awhile watching the geese annoy the cows,

My foot started to feel a bit better so I was able to sit at my sewing machine

and sew.

I got so much sewing done, this apron is for my eldest daughter who doesn't live at home.

It turned out quite retro I think. I love aprons and collect all old ones from second hand shops. I also love making them.

I also got all of DIL quilt top done all to do now is put the border on and quilt it.

I also started this little (below) cushion for my youngest daughter.

Once the quilt and this cushion is done I have finished my Christmas Present sewing..

Chloe came home from town and we spent some time to geather as she was getting ready.

Chloe is off to her sisters for the week end in Roma. There is a group going out there this weekend for the Roma Races. So she was able to get a lift out as it is a four hour drive.

Before I knew it, it was 3.30 pm and time to go and get the children from the bus stop.

After noon tea and they were in the pool.......

I managed to get a bit more sewing done.

Then it was tea time sausages and fresh asparagus for hubby and I the children
had sausages in bread as a hot dog, there favorite Friday night tea.

6:45p.m and we were in the car to take the girls to youth group in Toowoomba.
Back home and did the washing up.
Watched T.V with the little boys. We watched Honey I Shrank The Kids.
The boys loved it (so did I )
9p.m Boys to bed. In the car back to Toowoomba pick up girls.
Youngest is covered in cake as tonight is the last youth for the year and they ended with a cake fight.
HOME................
9.45pm and phone rings.... Chloe has got to Roma safely.Thank you Lord.....


I will Finnish my blog and have a bath and off to bed.
My foot is much better and I am walking O.K.

A Day In My Life

My Day started at 6:30 this morning..slept in after last night................

Panic stations....every-one out of bed!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Time to make the school lunches.

Breakfast was nice and quick, weet-bix.

7:40

Time to catch the bus, this is a 4min drive up the road.

Children all on bus, chat with some Mums and back home.....


COFFEE...........

Put on a load of washing.

Make the beds.

Clean the bathroom.

Update blog and have a quick look at others.

Up to the local hall to set up for our ladies craft morning.....

I started this craft morning about 5 years ago for the local women. Over the years we have learnt many things, but the last 12 mths we have just been bringing what ever we are working on.

Today though I organized some one to come and teach us about stack and whack quilts.
Below is the one my Mum just made me for my birthday(I am so spoilt)
This sounds like a fun quilt to make.

Lots of chatting and yummy food and more coffee of course, then it was time to pack up and back home.

Make lunch for M.I.L I don't need any ate to much at craft.

Do another load of washing bring in dry washing, fold and my dear M.I.L ironed it for me....

Went up to sewing room and put first coat of paint on a lamp that I am doing up.(forgot to take photo)

Played with our new 6 puppies, they are so cute.

Went for walk around garden and pulled a few weeds.

Time to pick children up from school bus.....

Afternoon tea, I didn't have to make any-thing today as one of the ladies made a birth-day cake for me and there was some left. Also the other ladies love to send me home with leftovers from the morning tea ( the children love craft days)

Clean up kitchen.

Bring in towels from veranda.

Get the children out of the pool.




5.30p.m

Bath time.

Home work.......Just realized I have a meeting up at the school tonight.....Better get tea under way.

Hubby is home from work...

Tea time.....Sausages and salad. I have just picked my first lettuce this season from the new vege patch.....






6.40p.m

In the car, up to Toowoomba for meeting for children starting grade 0ne next year. Things have changed in 5 years with the introduction of prep here in Queensland.

A day In My Life

We had a early start today, up at 4.30 this morning to get Cassie off on her school trip. Her grade 7 class are going to Sydney then to the snow and on to Canberra to go to Parliament House. What an exciting time for a young girl. The bus left from school at 5.30a.m She should be in Sydney now..........



Hubby was able to take her up as he had to go to finish working on a truck. He doesn't normally work on Sundays except for trucks and taxis, there are no days off for them.
I went back to bed for another sleep until 8a.m I love sleep in on Sundays.

Then it was time to get the rest of the gang up.
Breakfast was just fruit and cereal this morning quick and easy...Then time to get dressed for Church. As we worship in Toowoomba we leave at 9.30 for a 10.00 service.
All in the car and time to go!!!!!!!!! Flat battery and guess what the auto electrician husband was not here aghhhhhhhhhhhh. Not to panic! as there is only 4 of us we can fit in the other car. Got to church in time, had a guest speaker from England Adrian and Bridget Plass this morning and we really enjoyed them. Have read many of their books so I enjoyed putting faces to them.


12.30 And home for lunch. Just 3 children and my-self the table seems quiet. Clean up lunch dishes and out to the garden to check on veges that were planted yesterday. All looking well.



William has a garden expo at prep tomorrow so we had to make vege men. Now I would have made potato men but when you are a 5 year old with your own vege patch and the only thing growing are shallots and beet root well......... Meet beetroot boy and shallot Sam not bad for a little boy.

I love Sundays I tend to potter around. I cleaned down the veranda and watered the plants out there. Then I remembered that I had bought some pansy seedlings for some pots on the veranda so I got them all planted up.

3p.m Hubby is finally home two little boys and one wife was very happy to see him. Sat and had a cuppa on the nice clean veranda, then told him about the flat battery.

Hubby went to put the battery on charge and I sat down and had a nice catch up on some blogs.

5p.m Looks like rain but I'm not taking any chances went and watered the new seedlings and clivas. Did some weeding and general pottering around.

6.30p.m Tea time we had fettuccine with mushrooms and bacon Alanahs favorite tonight. Cleaned up tea things and got boys through bath.

All school clothes ready for tomorrow.

7.45 Boys to bed............

8p.m Time to do my blog.

A day In My Life

I thought that i would give A day In My Life ago.
My sick little boy trying not to smile as he knows I have the camera

6 a.m

Get a cup of coffee, Up nice and early this morning, boy is it COLD here, the house is fairly warm.

I had better get another log on the fire and get the children out of bed..Getting Hong out is the hard part. Son No 2 has woken up sick and with a temp he'll be staying home today as there has been a bit of this getting around. Time to get the table set and breaky made.Lunches are made.

7a.m

Get Hong moving and the last of his things packed as he goes back to Korea today. Time to get the kitchen clean. Great just realized that the littlest is still in bed. Get him up and try to dress him in front of the fire this is not an easy job as he wants to stay home when he realizes his brother is.

8 a.m

Every-one into the car!!!!!!!!!

Today I have to take the children to school. I have left Grandma looking after a sick boy. Drop the children of to school there are tears all around as they all say there good byes to Hong.

I take Hong over to the other side of town only to find out that the bus is now leaving from the school @#%&*& Go all the way across town to the school again. Bye Bye Hong........

9 a.m

I have to drop the car of to get new tires on them this is really one of my pet hates, having to hang around and wait for the car.

I decide to do some birthday shopping for Miss C who is 19 this Saturday.

Hubby rings and they can't get the tires for the mags we have any where in Toowoomba and have to send away for them. Poor Hubby has to go home to get the original tires... Then again he had to have them, you boys and toys, He thinks that if he has to drive around in a Tarago it's going to look good.....

Meanwhile I am still walking the streets.

Thought that I would go to Lin craft and try to find the balls of Lions cotton..I couldn't find any but I have found the bamboo and cotton mix that some-one mentioned so I'll give that ago.

11.45 a.m.

I decide to go back and wait for the car at bridge stone and when I get there, they have just finished. Thank you Lord.

12:15 p.m

Stop and get some groceries, don't want to come back up to town any time soon. Did I mention how cold it is up here to day and the wind was blowing a gale.

HOME............

Every one is O.k No 2 son is feeling a little better and watching T.v and my sister in law is here. She came to visit the M.I.L I'm glad that she had company while I was gone...I need a cup of coffee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

2 p.m

I bring in a load of wood as the fire has been going flat out the few days, it is so lovely and warm in side.

My M.I.L has another go at teaching me to knit. The new yarn I got is better than what I was using and I think I have finely got the hang of it.

3 p.m.

Just making a simple casserole for tea to night. All chopped up and on the wood stove, so I can sit down to do some more knitting.

Pick children up from the bus stop it's only 4 minutes up the road. Home and after noon tea. There is left over Pavlova from Hongs going away tea last night. I got some good mummy points for that.

4.30 p.m.

Homework.

My wonderful M.I.L. is doing the ironing for me and has brought in all the washing and folded it. At the moment she is my most favorite person. ( i know I am blessed to have a great M.I.L)

5.30p.m

Bath time for all the little treasures, clean up bath room.

6p.m

Tea time.....Hubby is running late he has gone to see one of his brothers on the way home from work....Children get in and do the washing and drying up while Hubby (who is finely) home and I catch up on the day.

7p.m

I decide to give this post a go as I know how much I enjoy reading others .

I am going to sit down and do some more Knitting tonight and have a glass of wine (or 2 )
