Long Week end.

I have had a busy week end here, long week ends do that if your not going away.

Saturday in between Soccer and football I spent baking up a storm, cakes biscuits and sour dough bread.

Sunday I tried a new bread recipe and was really happy with it, simple but good.
Bread
6 cups P flour,
4 teaspoons yeast
pinch salt
Tablespoon of bread improver
teaspoon sugar
dash good olive oil
Mix all together and add tepid  water until a nice sticky dough has formed.
Need for 15 min.
I put mine in the mix master and used my dough hook.

From this recipe I got a loaf of bread and 12 bread rolls above is the loaf and two rolls.
We  had them with pumpkin and cauliflower soup yummmmmo

I also bottled my first batch of Ginger beer. I'll let you know in 10 ten days how it turned out, good I hope.
My Mother in law has been here all week end and has been busy knitting me some dish clothes, and face washers. She is like a knitting machine, my supply is done again for awhile.

Today I finally got around to making the bunting for Harrison's room. I will show photos of it up later as he was sleeping when I took it over.

How did you spend your long, wet week end????

A Day At Home......

Yes that's right home all day and do you know what I have done so far.....
Nothing really.
Checked my emails, wrote an email to my 4 kids living away from home, and then checked up on them all through face book....Now I wonder what I would be doing if I didn't have the computer. O and now I'm blogging....
After this though I have so much housework to do....I am looking forward to the slow rhythm that pottering around does for me...Pottering I think I am to young to be pottering yet....
This photo above of William, Cassie took it on the week end...A real farm boy grass in mouth and that stand, my goodness it is Greg all over...

The boys are busy making motor bike jumps, every spare minute is going into this project..Boys and bikes, bikes and jumps, jumps and broken bones...Well that was the way it went for there older brother.....But that's boys and I love sitting up at the Dairy watching them....

Soccer is in full swing again, so tomorrow is spent cheering the side on....Am having my Mother in law for the week end...It does her well to be around us plenty to keep her mind active....
Now I must go and find my kitchen benches and floor....

Enjoying the sun.......

Not a lot happening around here today, my MIL has gone to help out my sister in-law that has broken a bone in her ankle. When my MIL is here she hangs all the washing for me, brings it in, folds it all then irons it for me.. Do you know how much spare time I have had ......I love my MIL and not just because she is good to me (O.K it helps) I spent all my spare time in the garden.
Today there is housework to get done and washing to hang on the line. I'm trying to get some routine back into my life, but I think I have to realize that NOT having a routine is my routine.... The sun is shinning brightly so it won't take long for the washing to dry... I will be spending some time in the sewing room as I need to add some length to 2 tablecloths I picked up on sale. They just fit the length of the table, so I'm going to add a little more to each end. That way they can hang over the end of the table.

Plants are still starting to flower....Abraham Lincoln Rose has lots of buds on it. The pansy's have there faces up to the sun, and salvias are starting to flower as well...We are all enjoying the winter sun plants, animals and us......

I'm Going To Sew!!!

I hope you all enjoyed your week-end!
Our family had a great time, our week end started with going to
the M.I.Ls place for after-noon tea, she truly makes the best fairy cakes ever.
I haven't had her stay as much lately and I know that she is missing being here
so I will have to get my act together and have her come stay
again for a while.
She is doing well though at the moment and is getting out alot with
other family members and her senior citizens group, so that's good.
Friday night was a night in with Hubby and younger boys,
as the girls all went to youth group in Toowoomba.
It was raining on and off on Fri & Saturday which was lovely and cool.
Saturday night we had friends for tea great company they
were . Four men friends that Greg had a great time with.
It was good to see them all enjoying themselves and relaxing. Aren't good friends
better than medicine especially when you have laughed all night..
Greg has been feeling so much better the last couple of days!!!!!
Two of his brothers came down on Sunday to wiper sniper the front fence line as the rain was shorting out he electric fence.
They got here about 9am and when we got home from church the were still at it.
We gave them lunch and they had a few beers as well, the lest we could do as it was hot on Sunday. Later in the day Greg sat on the tractor and
sprayed so that the grass wouldn't grow back again.
I got out and did the mowing and got some more gardening done.
This week I am definitely getting some sewing and hand work done,
I know I say that each week but I am caught up on every thing now, so I can.
House work is all finished and Greg has gone into work for awhile
so I am of to the dairy to sew!!!!

Happy Sunday

After Church this morning The youngest and I went to the Sunday markets. I have been putting my pennies aside to go and get some flowers for pots around the place.
Instead I found fruit trees..............
I thought that it was to late to get them......nope........
I picked up four trees.
Orange(Washington navel)
Mandarin (emperor)
Lemon ( Meyer)
Mango

Last summer we had to pull all our fruit trees out. There were 10 of them. But they were planted down the back garden and over the last 10 years the palms grew so big that they were in the shade most of the time. They were full of sooty mould and other diseases.
So I have been wanting to start replacing them. I will be going back next week as well as I have ordered some others.

William got some gold fish for the bath come pond up at the dairy.

All in all a good time, nearly wasn't going to go as it looked like more rain, but it still hasn't rained today.

Have got all the mowing done this arvo, so every thing looks nice and green again with the rain we have had.

This evening we are going to our neighbors for tea, they are a lovely older couple that never had children and love our s very much.

My Mother in law has to come to stay for a while again.

The sun has just come out darn................I was hoping for more rain...........

I hope you are all enjoying your week-end.......
