O CHristmas tree.......

The decorations are all up and it is looking
a lot like Christmas.

Below is the family room, I have used little potted
trees for added greenery this year.

Below is the same room at night with the lights all on...
I don't need any other lights on at all !

For the table centre piece we have a basket of candles and 2 topiary trees.

Cassie has been decorating jars with candles in them and selling lots at our local
community nights.
They look lovely in this black French shopping basket.

Below a corner in the Family room.
My advent Christmas tree and a old frame with Christmas
cards in it, another potted tree and of course the Christmas cushions are out.

Stars and some balls and birds under a
glass dome.

Even my hutch has had the Chrissy treatment.

A few more bubbles around.... and my good dinner set
even looks Christmassy.

I hope enjoyed my Christmas tour...

Blessings

Easter Decorating...

Wednesday already.....
Or hump day.

I spent Monday dusting and fluffing around with all my Easter decorations I have been collecting.

I even found Bunny that I got for Jessica when she was a baby, now she's waiting for her own baby.sighhhhhhh.

I have picked up a nice selection of egg cups and bunnies for different vinaigrette's around my home.
It is fun to get in and decorate for different occasions isn't it?

My favorite is this crazy looking pink bunny and little pink basket I found. I put theses on my glass cake stand I got some time ago.

Even though we won't be here for Easter it is still nice to decorate.
Do you decorate for Easter?

Before and After..

Remember these I showed you in an earlier post.
Well they have been sitting around waiting to be put together.

Yes you guessed they are chair seats. When I got my red table for the kitchen I didn't realize that it came with 4 chairs. This is how they looked before (below)

And Now
Nothing like a fresh coat of paint and some bright covers to give some tired old ugly chairs a bright fresh look.
This is the first time I've done chairs and I'm happy with how they turned out.

I was thinking of selling them, but when I made all the new cushions and had material left I new they would look great in here.

I have been using the stool for awhile now but I'm thinking of taking it out and putting chairs back as we are not having 10 for every  meal at the moment...

I love the way the cushions and chairs all match in and bring the much needed colour to these rooms.
Also if you look closely at the lounge chair and the chair in the corner you will see I have placed some yellow sheets on them. I got them from Vinnie's ages ago and love the extra retro look they bring .

As you can see below I did have the white leather ones here. The new chairs are not as high as the leather ones and I think it opens it all up a bit more.

I am so happy with the way this area looks now.

It is a sunny bright area to eat, sew, watch T.V, read in.
Blessings and Have a great week end

A Spring Bedroom.............

I have given my bedroom a Spring make over.....

I am loving the turquoise color at the moment so I have gone with that and Hot pink this time...Looking at this though I think I need differant curtains?

I loved the Black and White but it had been like that for 12mths and I have been itching to change it again...

I brought the freshness into the bathroom as well.

My perfume adds colour as well...I get lots of perfumes from my daughters as presents. I don't think a girl can have to many perfumes.

I made new matching light shades for the bedside tables.

I got this material from www.beachvintage.blogspot.com  They have some great fabric and are very reasonable with there prices.

The cane chest at the end of the bed keeps all the linen it it and now the extra from the black phase....hahaha

About the walk in robe....
Hmmmm
I wish I had more shoe storage, if there was something I would do different it would be to take these shelves out and have it all shoe storage. Then I would need some where to put all my hand bags sighhhh what is a girl to do.
I did have a clean out after I took this photo and it looks a little better now...

I hope you enjoyed my Spring bedroom make over I will share more later in the week....

Untill then
Blessings to all

A Shabby Chic wedding in the country....

I wanted to share with you all how the old local hall looked after we decorated it for Chloe and Damos wedding.

The wedding table was on the stage which looked so good, it also made sure the bride and groom didn't miss out on any thing.

We then had three long tables set up...Chloe loved the idea of long tables. I made table runners in one length down all tables and then we just had all mixed jars and filled them with candles and flowers

The flowers used were roses, carnations and Geraldine wax in white. I had so much fun setting the tables and getting the right combo for the plates. I had enough Crystal glasses for the bridal table, and I must of changed the combination of the plates a dozen times....sad but true. I also took all the mirrors from the house and hang them in the hall to give some extra sparkle.
The wedding cake was amazing as you can see. Alanah has a friend who makes all the cakes for any family function..
I this this is the best cake she has ever made though...The flowers looked amazing tumbling down the side of the cake...
And I thought I would show you another photo of Mr & Mrs Sutton in the garden...
This is how the hall looked before we stared hanging paper lanterns, fairy lights and setting up the tables...

I hope you enjoyed the photos as much as I did setting up....

Next post I will show you my Spring bedroom make over untill then...

Sweet 16 th in The Shed....

I am a little sad as the Sweet 16th is all over.
Sad that my youngest daughter is 16 and yet so proud of the young Lady she is growing into. Sad that I am THAT OLD....

The Shed also made it's entrance in it's first party. There was last minute building going on. Windows going up.
Below and above is the Barb-B-Que area and I wanted it enclosed. I have had this sash windows for ever from the house, we hang them on chains to enclose the barby. I love the way they look here.

The other end is the prepping end or work station with an old stove given to us by some friends. Up went some shelves and out came all my bits and pieces. I am having fun decorating this shed.

We even have a bar at the end. Damien cooking here and Robbie helping.
Below you can see the kitchen area.

Even room for Time out below for us girls while the boys cook.

The 16 year olds kept warm around the fire, and boy was it cold. I think it was the coldest night we have had yet.

The inside was nice and warm and I love the way it all looked and turned out.
The wooden chairs I picked up from St Vinnies 8 for $100...Bargain

A few old branches hanging around.

More branches to give it a rustic feel..

If you have a look to the right of the pic below you can see a large number 16 on the wall. Cassie made this from electric power line insulators...Cleaver isn't she.

Lots of bunting around no decorating is complete without bunting.
Boy it was a big day but by the end the shed looked great.

Damien and Chloe made the birthday cake...They love cooking together so they are the cake makers of the family.

As the night went on we light another fire near the shed and it kept us all nice and warm. Good old 44 drums make the best fire pits.

There was the cutting of the cake and one very Happy girl.

I hope you enjoyed the tour of The Shed..
Thanks girls for the comments for the name of the shed. May be it will just be that.
The Shed....hmmmm

I know it was an over load of photos, thanks for dropping by.
Blessings Mandy
