TWENTY TWENTY FIVE.....2025

Well hello 2025...... We have had a wonderful time since Christmas! We had a quiet Christmas day with my Mum and Dad, Robbie and Emma and Bruce and myself...In the evening Will and Cill joined us when Will finished work... Boxing day we headed to Robbies place at Buderim where Alanah and family and Cassie and family met us....
These 3 still play up when they get together hahahaha Lots of swimming with the grandkids, trip to the beach and just spending time togeather making memories...
Such a good start to the year with some off the kids.....Then it was out to Gundy to spend time with Jessica and family..You know you have had a good time when you are busy and forget to take photos. I really am the worst at picture taking as I get caught up in the moment....
After Gundy we headed to Brisbane to spend time with Alanah and Shane in there new house....All up we did 1220 kms since boxing day.... It was a time to rest, swim, read, walk and laugh lots of laughter.....
It is always good to be home though....We are looking forward to this year aheadI hope you are too... Mandy

I'm Home....

It has been a hard two weeks laying on the beach and working on my tan, but it has to be done.

The boys lived at the beach and we are all so brown and healthy now. I used coconut oil this holiday as my sunscreen and yes it does work. I was amazed as I thought it would burn our skin.

The only thing was we missed sweet Harrisons 2nd birthday...He is growing up into a cheeky little rat bag....With 2 more grandbabies due this year I needed a holiday to recharge the batteries.

We had lots of rain the last couple of days, and what would camping be without the disaster story....Yep the brand new gazebo crashed.....

But on our last weekend there the sun came out and we were able to enjoy the Australia day celebrations, with our grand daughters. Uncle Will did the right thing and took Abby on the tea cup ride...This is such a happy photo.

We sat on the beach on our last night and waited for the fire works....

I am now looking forward to catching up with every one,as I had a blogging holiday as well...

Blessings to all

This and That....

What a wonderful Tuesday...
Last night we all woke up to the sound of Thunder and lightening and Rain lots of rain....We are so thankful as the tanks were getting low,on our last half a tank....The gardens were looking thirsty as well.....Now the tanks have water and the hills have a green tinge to them.

It was a good end to a great week end....We all went to the Sunshine Coast for a long weekend just what was needed. The boys did a lot of fishing and the girls and I spent time on the beach, eating and going through the thrift shops. Perfect week end had by all.

I spent time on Pinterest, see this chair below? I found lots like them on Pinterest, just what I want to do with my favourite old chair, cover it in a patch work of colour. So yes a lot of time was also spent in the thrift stores looking for old floral sheets and material...I didn't get any sheets but we did get lots of other goodies that I will share later in the week.

Monday afternoon when we got home this wonderful little book was waiting for me in the mail....So much goodness in one book... have you seen Dottie Angels blog it is worth the visit...www.dottieangel.blogspot.com So simple and sweet with lots of good ideas.

Today I have been going like a mad woman in the garden after the rain, weeding, pruning, potting up cuttings and being so very thankful to our Maker for once again being able to be at home and look after my family, even if these days my family is much smaller...lol

Now back to the garden for a little while, then of to the Mobile Library ending with a visit to a sick friend.....

Blessing to All

Beach Decorating....

Happy Monday all.....

How was your week end? Wet, sunny?
We had a week end of full on rain which my garden was very thankful for, but made doing any gardening out of the question.

The wet weather did have me thinking about being at the beach and missing my long sunny walks along the beach....QLD does have the best beaches in the world after all.

Now I know there is a lot of beach inspired blogs out there, and now I'm seeing why?
I miss the casualness being on the beach brings(no shoes, no makeup hahah) so  I thought I would do a little bit of beachy casual decorating here to The Old Dairy.
I gathered some (I do mean some I have a thing for drift wood)of our rocks, shells, driftwood etc that we have gathered and added a little beach to the family room.

A sweet little shell box, some driftwood and of course a  bottle of coloured sand from Rainbow Beach.

I grouped them all together with my oars and my favorite cane lamp on the chest at the back door and now every time I walk out the back door I have a smile and remember all the goods times at the Beach.

I hope you all enjoyed my little beach themed corner...

Later in the week I will show a rather big project we worked on over the week end. Below is a little peek.

Beach Combing......

So little boys and dirty workshop all day wasn't working for me. Woke up Wednesday morning and thought lets go fishing......so we did. We left about 3pm that afternoon a crazy day at work, doesn't that always happen, every thing that can go wrong does..Had a lovely relaxing time, the boys did lots of fishing with there Uncle and the girls and I went shopping (just like old times)

I just had to have this jacket. All hand made from vintage lace. I don't know where I will go to wear it though. I know when my Mum sees it she will go home and make one, and it will look better too. It does have some new material in it as well, the lace and dollies are just gorgeous.

I also got this handbag....Also made from vintage fabric and new leather. It is well known around these parts that I have a thing for handbags, but I think that this bag might be the ONE.. It is so soft and yummy, and big, the colours are just perfect as well. Yep it is the one..

Chloe and Damien, Alanah and Tristan also come down for the weekend. Chloe and I did the second hand shops. Her suggestion to go in and look ( I was so proud as finally one of my daughters enjoys second hand shops)

Chloe got some vases for her house and I got some great glass pieces. This vase is the perfect shape for a small bunch of flowers. The dish I will keep soap in I think in my bathroom.

This pink bowl is a real find as I have been after a new salad bowl and this will be perfect. Also another little dish.

6 of these English bread and butter plates.

I was so happy with my finds, O except the plates these were all in the one shop. I will have to get a photo of Chloe's goodies to show you.

The girls and I had a fun time at Ikea last week. We didn't really get any thing just had a nice time looking and dreaming.....

Well I'm back to work today, boys in tow.

Enjoy your week

Blessings

Hello again.......

Life has been a little busy here in the Storey household....just like yours I'm sure. Every one I talk to has the same complaint....life is too busy and there is not enough hours in the day to fit it all in...Well school holidays have started here for the next 3 weeks....This always forces me to slow down and spend more time at home with the children. The boys are wanting to go fishing....this time of the year we always went on our family holiday with Greg's family fishing....I never did enjoy going to the coast in winter but it was Greg's holiday and they all enjoyed fishing...So Robbie, Will Cassie and I are going to go to good old Caloundra for a couple of nights....I am hoping I won't have to do to much fishing as their Uncles will take them out..but then again sitting on the boardwalk watching them all fish will be relaxing....( OK now I know I need a holiday when I am thinking that fishing will be relaxing)
Last week I had my eldest daughter home for a few days...Girl time..... it was so nice having all four of my daughters here with me....lots of laughter and stories were told..Having family around really is the best medicine for me......Now all I need to do is to get No 1 son home for a visit....

I am looking forward to catching up on my favourite blogs while I am away..as the only computer I have been near in the last couple of weeks is the one at the workshop...

I will blog from the beach about all the fish we are catching......I mean they will be catching....But now I have to go and find fishing rods and tackle boxes......also explain to William that.... no, we are not taking the boat to Caloundra....... yes, I know Daddy always did....... and no, I don't know how to drive a boat......... yes, I am sure that you and Robbie could drive it, you are just not allowed to......Did I say relaxing.....who am I kidding....

Beachbums for a Day....

With weather as nice as ours there's nothing else to do than pack the bus and head to the beach for the day!!!!!!!!!!!
Well it wasn't really my idea.....it was Bronwyns, and I must say for once she had a good idea..We went down on the local school bus agggggghhhhh...To say the children were loud is an understatement....

We went to Mooloolaba around to the point..The water was so blue and calm. We set up in a park right there on the beach and had a picnic for lunch.

Plenty of food and we all ate to much of course..Then after lunch Bronwyn and I went for a walk while her husband Dave kept watch over every-thing..We did get our feet wet but that was all..It was nice just to walk and talk.

Below are the girls posing as teenage girls do..
Cassie, Alanah, Ellen and Melanie. Would you believe that Cassie is older than Mel!!!

The day was over all to soon and time to head home.We stopped at the fruit shop on the way home for fruit and vege, then continued home....

Today though it is back to the house and the beginning of a new week...
Blessings
