Grandbabies and More....

Hello Blog world it has been a while...

Things have been very busy around here since March.

Chloe and Damien had a new baby girl, it was not an easy time for their family.

Maddison Mercia Sutton
was born very tiny and very early but also very perfect.
On the 22nd March

We refer to Maddison as our miracle baby..

Chloe now has 1 boy and 2 girls.

Maddy is doing so well and is now 4 months old....

Her cousin wasn't far behind her.

Thomas Cameron Lawton
was born on the
9th May

That makes 2 boys for Alanah
He is perfect and so cute.

Not easy keeping up with all these babies that's for sure....

Cassie turned 21 this year
and we had a great country party for her out at Glenmorgan.

I am so proud of the beautiful woman that she is growing into....
and you guessed it....

Grand-baby No 11 due in September...

Phoebe turned 1 in June
That year has gone so fast.....

David and family were down here for Phoebe's birthday
which was a real treat for us.

I know I am so blessed to have such a large healthy happy family
God is good.

Blessings

Up the garden path..........

I thought I would show you around the garden on this lovely summer evening...
Lets start at the nice end of the garden and walk up the pathway.

Stop and rest here a little  while at my favorite coffee stop.
Still cleaning up out here after all the rain and wind and  I need a few plants to liven it all up.

Down the back stairs, as you can see there is a lack of potted colour around after all the heat we had I couldn't keep the water up to the flowers. All I have left is the 2 bay trees.

The gardens are looking wonderful though after all the rain, yep first sering heat then floods. You can't pick it here in Australia.

The back garden is looking very bare. I have lost a lot of saliva's, lavenders and Daisy's out here. I have lost more plants in the last 2 years than all the years I have been here.
I am rethinking what I am going to plant....

This area below I would love to put a big formal garden here with fountain and lots of roses, but alas that will never happen as long as I have kids that want to play football.Sighhhhhhhhh.

Something like this I'm thinking.

 (pinterest)

Meanwhile I will keep planting and experimenting with the garden and we'll see what happens.

Here is the latest photo of Harrison with his Mummy, still waiting for baby No 2...(come on Karen what's the hold up????)

have a great week all....

I'm Back....

Thank you for the feed back for my last post..I tried to buy more photo space and it wouldn't let me. So frustrating!!!!!!!!!
Then today I thought I would give it another go and Ta Dar it lets me down load more photos......Go figure.....

Lots has been happening here, I am right into making soy candles. Going to all the thrift shops to get glass ware to make them in. I have a cupboard full and lots more sitting in the pantry, but below in my favorite one.

Above with out the lid and below with the lid on.When you have finished with the candle you have a nice little glass jar that you can use.

I have also been busy making soap, all natural made from oils. This soap will not only clean but moisturize at the same time.

I also had Chloe's Baby Shower on Sunday...

Lots of work all these parties, I spent Saturday cooking and the party Sunday(eating hahaha)

it was a lovely day with friends and family.

We had a pretend cake made from nappies..

But also one we could eat.

It's good to be back blogging....

Blessings

A Shabby Chic wedding in the country....

I wanted to share with you all how the old local hall looked after we decorated it for Chloe and Damos wedding.

The wedding table was on the stage which looked so good, it also made sure the bride and groom didn't miss out on any thing.

We then had three long tables set up...Chloe loved the idea of long tables. I made table runners in one length down all tables and then we just had all mixed jars and filled them with candles and flowers

The flowers used were roses, carnations and Geraldine wax in white. I had so much fun setting the tables and getting the right combo for the plates. I had enough Crystal glasses for the bridal table, and I must of changed the combination of the plates a dozen times....sad but true. I also took all the mirrors from the house and hang them in the hall to give some extra sparkle.
The wedding cake was amazing as you can see. Alanah has a friend who makes all the cakes for any family function..
I this this is the best cake she has ever made though...The flowers looked amazing tumbling down the side of the cake...
And I thought I would show you another photo of Mr & Mrs Sutton in the garden...
This is how the hall looked before we stared hanging paper lanterns, fairy lights and setting up the tables...

I hope you enjoyed the photos as much as I did setting up....

Next post I will show you my Spring bedroom make over untill then...

Spring is in the air......

Good morning and what a beautiful morning it is here in sunny Queensland....I can feel the warmth of the sun on my back as I sit at my dinning room table blogging.

The weather has been perfect this last week and I think Spring has arrived a week earlier.
All we need now is some spring rain as my tanks are getting empty, we are on the emergency supply..I have become the water police walking around in the evening mumbling 3 min showers that's it, hair washing in the laundry....My new backpackers that arrived yesterday think I'm nuts...hahaha

I would like you to meet my new cooking companion, Web. Boy is teaching me a whole new way of cooking..Throw a roast on the barby or a chicken or 2, a potato bake some fish whatever, walk away do some gardening come in wash your hands, set the table, make a salad and presto Web has cooked dinner for me....Last night we had Roast pork, potato bake and salad...Yummmmmoooo

I admit he doesn't look real pretty sitting here on my veranda, but I have decided to let him stay as he is so handy...I'm yet to try pizza on Web I'll keep you updated...Does any one else cook there meals on the barby????

Only 3 more sleeps to Chloe's wedding.........and 3 more sleeps until I see my big boy David and Karen. Yep I am getting excited....touched with sadness....
The sadness comes from knowing I will be walking Chloe down that aisle when really my Greg should be here to walk his first daughter down...We talked about this for so many years...There has been a lot of tears from me this week as the hole in my heart seems to have split open again with the wanting of Greg here. I know he will be here in our hearts and minds, but some times that's not enough.
Sorry for that bit of rambling but those of you that have followed my blog will under stand......I know that Saturday will be touched with a little of that sorrow but Greg would want us to be happy and celebrate his daughters wedding the way he would, and Greg knew how to celebrate.....

Blessings to you All
Mandy
