Chia Seed Choc Cake and some sewing.........

Hi All
I know my Family room looks a mess as it has been a hive of activity all day.
Grandma is busy knitting me dishcloths and face washers, I have been sewing making some new creations. You will have to wait to see what I'm up too though.

In the middle of all this activity Will announces "Their is nothing to eat" of course not just as
I have my sewing bug in full swing I have to stop to make a cake.

Never mind though as I got a new cook book when I was at The wine and food festival.
Gluten free grain free
by
Tania Hubbard
I watched Tania do a cooking demo and love it all so much I got her book....And what a wonderful book it is...

I just whacked every thing into my Thermomix and then in the oven and

Left Over Muffins........

Before I could make any thing it was a
quick trip in the RAIN down to the chook pen to
get some eggs as I had used them all for breakfast......
Thankfully there was three hmmm enough for muffins.
Now what kind will I make.
There was left over chicken, roast potatoes, broccoli and cauliflower from
lasts night tea. that will do.......
Some salt and pepper
cup of grated cheese
garlic
fresh basil
What I make often depends on left overs and every-one
loves savory muffins on a cold and wet day...
For cooking I also use powered milk as it
is much cheaper...
I use a basic muffin recipe for my muffins and change it
as to what I have on hand...
3 cups plain flour
2 tbls baking powder
2 eggs
2 cups milk
splash olive oil
From this I make savory and sweet muffins...
There is no after photo as they are in the oven..

This morning I am of to craft, we are going up to
Toowoomba today...I am sure it will be very cold
and foggy up there as well as wet.
A great day to sit chat and do some knitting.......
Then of to chemo with Greg
more time to knit, I think by tonight I should just
about have Greg's scarf finished...
Have a great day all
I know I will just because today it
is RAINING....
Blessings

Yesterday was Cassandras Birthday......
Only she isn't here....she is still away on camp and I have
to tell you things are certainly quiet here without her....
You are now 13. Wow 13 You are a young lady now
with so much ahead of you....Having 3 older sisters Cassie
has never lacked for girlie things that's for sure....
I wonder what you where doing on your B/day? hiking? camping? swimming
maybe?
I have never had one of the children away on camp before on there b/day........
I'm sure she is having fun anyhow...
HAPPY BIRTHDAY
CASSANDRA....

The boys pajama pants are all made, they loved the pirate

material, now I have the girls to make. Hopefully I'll get another

3 pairs made today, before I have to take the boys to soccer training.

Tomatoes must be in abundance around our area at the moment

as people have been dropping some off nearly every day.

Yesterday I thought that I had better use some of them to make

Pasta Sauce...I use alot of pasta sauce around here. I don't make much

relish or chutney as we don't eat alot of that, so I

tend to use the toms more in making tomato sauce and pasta sauce.

The only thing I had to buy was the onions and vinegar as

the chili, capsicum and herbs came from the garden.

I'm not one for recipes as I tend

to make it up as I go along, but I will give you a general idea..

Pasta Sauce

4-5 k.g tomatoes

4 onions

2 chillies

6 sm capsicums

1 large bunch basil

same for parsley

1 cup cider vinegar

salt and pepper.

Cook until well boiled down.

I then blend about 3/4 of the sauce as

I like a pasta sauce to not be to chunky.

Then bottle...

Easy...........

The weather has really cooled down around

here today, so I will enjoy being in my snug sewing room....

Blessings to all

Friday...Again......

I can say with absolute honesty that I have gotten nowhere this week......
Don't get me wrong the house is clean and my jobs are up to date....kinda......sorta
well mostly any way.
I haven't had a chance to even do any gardening this week and
after that wonderful rain I want to get the weeding done.
I did manage to get the Muesli Bars made yesterday..
I had the baby sitting yesterday, and then some people came to pick
up there puppies........
and stayed until 7 o'clock grrrrrrrr.
I just feel out of whack .
I know what I need to do and that is say NO more often to people that drop around
of an evening on a school night. It is happening more and more
and it's driving me craaaazyyy.....
I have decided that I will just get up and go about the things I need to do
of an evening. I won't be rude, just tell them I have jobs to do.
Do you think this will work?
There I feel much better now that I have vented.

This is the Muesli Bar Slice that I made. Not a great picture
as I haven't cut it up yet.
Here is the receipe.
MUESLI BARS
1/4 cup sesame seeds
1/4 cup sunflower seeds
1/4 cup Pepita's
1 cup muesli
3cups rice bubbles
1/2 cup coconut
Put all these dry ingredients into a bowl.
Then place in a saucepan.
125grams of butter
1/3 cup honey
1/3 cup peanut butter
1/2 cup raw sugar
Melt over slow heat until all dissolves, then simmer for 5 mins
mixture will thicken slightly.
Add to dry ingredients mix together thoroughly.
Press into a 19cm x 29cm Lamington try lined with foil or you may grease tin.
Press firmly and refrigerate until set.
Cut into slices the size of muesli
bars.
I always make a double batch up when i make these.
I also add what ever other nuts, dried fruit and even choc bits that
are open and in the pantry..
I have been to town this morning to take my Mother in-law shopping.
I only had to get a few things myself. Whops forgot to hide the chips..ha ha ha.
Their for the children really...... not my lunch.

Tomorrow I have to go shopping with a friend to help
organize table setting and centre pieces for her sons 21st. Hoping that this
won't take to long so I can come home and get the gardening done.

I hope every-one has a great week end and that we all get some rain.
