Happy Birthday Sieanna May......

This sweet little girl is one today....
Happy Birthday
Sieanna May

This after noon we will be going in to have cake with
the birthday girl..

The sewing room has been put to good use making Sieanna her out fits. You have seen the little top, well I also got the  romper made , just in time for her birthday.
I will post some photos later of her in it.

The spare room is all clean again, Bruce and Robbie moved the large table in here for me so I have plenty of room now.
Next on my list is getting back into scrap booking. I really want to do a album up of Greg's life for the kids.

Nice to have this room all girly again after being a boys room for so long.

Below is a rare moment when it was a clean boys room...Really no such thing is there? Clean and boys hahahah

The vege garden is coming along well with the cooler weather.
My brother who you can see in the pic has moved in here with us, and he is loving being able to
get into the garden..

He reminds me of my Pop who was always out in his vege garden...
Love the cooler weather and being able to be out in the garden again. It got very hot this summer and I am looking forward to this cooler weather.

The asparagus is going wild and I am cutting it every day..Have you ever had it straight from the garden? Tastes just like fresh snow peas. yummo.

Enjoy your week All

Birthday and Sewing

This most handsome young man turned 13 yesterday...

Its hard to believe my youngest is 13,,,
Family birthdays are getting smaller all the time now that 4 of 7 of the kids live away...
We tease Will that he is like a only child hahahah

Robbie has moved out to the Donna the Donga
This was my sewing room that I loved, then Ben moved in there and now that he and Cassie are married and moved away I thought I would get it back...
Wrong...

Robbie being 18 (and the fact that it has air con) has moved in there,,,
So I get a spare room...
I will keep the single beds in here for now, but I have also moved my
sewing machine in here.

I also have more storage for my craft supplies that have been packed away
for over a year now.

I know this Horn sewing table is ugly, but it is so good to have all you need handy...

Yep this is it now, I've been sewing..
So I needed another table O and bring in the ironing board as well.
Next minute!!!!!! A mess..

I made my youngest grand daughter a little Easter dress and am busy making a romper as well.
Nice to have it all in the house, so I'm glad Robbie took Donna.....may be I should call it Donald the Donga now it belongs to Robbie...

A last photo of the birthday boy...

Markets tomorrow if its not raining.

Enjoy your week end

Sewing Room.

Happy Saturday to you all.
Today here has had a change  of weather, in one night we have gone from
32 degrees to a wonderful cool 24..
Now the cooler weather has inspired me to finally get my new sewing/craft room
fit to use.

I still need to paint the inside but for now I am just happy to have a space to call my own.

As you can see the ceiling needs lining, I am thinking of just lining this with material
that I have. Nothing the staple gun couldn't handle..

Plenty of storage with this bookcase that was my Mum's and has been
in the storage room for years, it now houses my material.

The other end is set up for crafting mainly scrap booking. This end is where
Cassie does her craft.
The horn sewing cabinet I got from the same garage sale as the donga. The rest of the furniture
has been raided from the house and storage room..

I would like to put a arm chair in here as well so I am on the look out for
one. Until then I have the little veranda on Donna where I can have a coffee
break and admire the garden.

Now I am going to go and do some sewing, I will post when I have finished.

Have a great and safe week end.

The first week.....

My fist blog for 2014
I have been on a blog holiday as things have been so busy here
over the Christmas New year time.

I hope you all had a great Christmas and New Year.
I wanted to share what my 3 oldest got me for Christmas, just a wee  picture on canvas.
Organized by my wonderful DIL Karen. My first thought was "where am I going to fit it??"
We all agreed it looks great on the kitchen wall, every time I walk into this room I have 4 smiling happy faces looking at me...

This year Christmas
was for the children, watching Grace opening her presents
was so much fun and all the other 3 crawling around getting into what ever they can..

The cutest Santa's helpers haha

Before Christmas I got lots of sewing done, Christmas Stockings and clothes for all the grandies.

I have a new sewing room I mean total mess.
Bruce got me a movable room that has become my sewing room, well a donga really in fact I call her Donna the Donga. She's
not very pretty yet but O so good to be able to sew again and then walk out and
leave the mess and I do mess well hahaha.

One day it will be clean though.
Pintrest
And the outside will look like this.
Hey a girl can dream.
I would show you a outside picture but i can't do it as it looks that BAD...
Just imagine this is it below.

Pintrest

One week into the New year and this handsome young man
turns 16
Happy birthday Robbie.

Time is already marching on

May 2014 be filled with dreams coming true
and much happiness to you all.

My New Sewing Nook ( No 3 I think)

I have pictures, I 'm still unable to get a browse when I go to photos so I am loading them straight to pisica photos and then I  can add them no worries, it was a fluke that I worked this out  I tell you.

But I can now show you my new sewing nook...
Below is when I moved from the Old Dairy into the family room.

Now I have moved in to the main living room. I needed to have more light and I like to look out the window when I am sewing.

So I moved this cabinet and put a desk that I had around there.

I use the dinning room table to cut out on so every thing is nice and close. Not Ideal I know, but it works and at night I can have tea and go back to sewing..

I have made 8 new cushions so far and as I am blogging my material has arrived from www.fabrictraders.com.au   So after lunch I can get in and make some more.

I thought I needed some yellow so I will make some yellow ones. The hard part is choosing the fabric as Fabric Traders have so many to choose from.

I am now back to having Monday's at home as I have got some-one that is working for me Mondays and when school starts it will be Mondays and Thursday's. Then when these Grand babies start coming I can drop every thing and go to Roma or Charters Towers or even across the road to Chloe. Now as long as Alanah DOES NOT  get married and settle in Canada I am all ready to go.

Have a great week all...
I'm going to get that sewing done.

Blessings

Hello All...
and a big thank you to those that replied to me about painting my kitchen cabinets.
My first being from my daughter via a text which read...(Do not I repeat do not paint the kitchen cabinets white)hmmmm looks like I will be leaving them as is. Keeping them clean was a major concern and hearing how some of you have trouble I think the wood will be staying...

sewing nook to the left of door way.

and yet here I am acquiring more wooden pieces. I have always wanted a set of small drawers in my bedroom for all of my accessories(slight obsession here I blame my Mother for it)I mean a drawer for each colored bangles, earrings, necklaces, scarves etc , I great idea for storing them all. I picked this beauty up from a shop in Gatton..I always imagined an old chippy  one but hey I could let the boys at it and that would fix the problem...

Any ways (is that a word) until I get to paint it white to go in my bedroom I thought I would bring it inside....well it is heavy and this is as far as it got, just inside the back door. I'm sorry the photo doesn't do it justice above.
Guess what.....I love this piece here, I won't be painting it at all not with 20 drawers any way. As yet I don't know what I will store in it I'm thinking as it is near my sewing nook it will be good for craft stuff.

I guess this means I'm still looking for one for my bedroom.

I am off to craft this morning at the local hall, I didn't get there at all last year and really lost touch with a lot of the ladies so I  have made a decission.. Spend more time with people whose company I enjoy. What I mean is, time for me is the last thing I do, including being with people I love and whose company I enjoy..The last few years family and friends have all taken a back seat to work, things are going to change. Yes I have to run a business and put food on the table and pay bills, but I also need a life.
 Balance.
This is what it's all about balancing out time with friends, family and work.

Enjoy your day

Update on the Old Dairy Old.....

Work has been under way up at

The Old Dairy..
Remember this time last year when I had all the white ants in the house???Well they also ate the front wall out of the dairy....

I now have a nice front wall, still to be painted yet though.

Now if you compare The Old Dairy to the picture in the side bar you will see something else new.

Yep a little veranda. I think it makes the dairy look like a real little cottage. What do you think.

My Little old dairy has come a long way in the last two years that is for sure.

I hope you enjoyed the very quick update of

The Old Dairy

If you click on sewing room at the bottom of the post you can see all that has been done to the dairy.

Blessings

Getting Ready For The Big Trip, but first some gardening.

I have been working on the garden up at my little hideaway/dairy, it is coming along nicely. I t does look like I have lost a apple tree up here though, I'm not sure what has happened to it as the leaves and fruit have died and fallen off.The grass still hasn't grown back out side the back door.aghhhhhh
The weeds are growing a treat as you can see. Last week end I sprayed weed & feed all over the area and the weeds are dying, so hopefully the grass will be back soon.

Yep green all around. I did get lawn grubs in other parts of the yard but as I new what was happening I sprayed straight away and the grass didn't die.

The fruit trees are looking good with all the rain we had.

Below is my potting shed, but two young boys have taken it over, well while Mummy is working at the dairy they will be cleaning this mess up. O and football is a bye this week so Robbie has all Saturday. Now let me tell you he was excited yep he moaned, and groaned and I think there was rolling of the eyes....but he new it was a losing battle.

This next week is going to be busy.. On Saturday the 26 th March I am flying off to Vietnam for 2 weeks. This will be my first over seas trip. So I have a week to get every thing I need ready.
Work will be OK as I have Alanah in charge there, O and the best news is I have a new guy starting today...Alanah thinks he is cute, I won't comment as he is as old as my son and well that is wrong!!! Any way now that work is all going well I will be able to enjoy my holiday. I was almost not going to go, but things have a way of working out at the last minute.
Two wonderful weeks of trekking through Vietnam with your best friend, we are going to have so much fun. O and you should see me in my hiking boots, what a sight. I have been wearing them on my morning walk for the last couple of weeks to wear them in, really Chloe laughs at me all the time. Yep getting excited all right....
But first I better get to work and make sure the cute new guy is working hard....
hahahaha
Blessing to all
Mandy
