Decluttering and Recycling...

I feel free, liberated even let me share why.
I cleaned my closet!!!!

  It was full,
full of shoes, clothes, blankets, hats and  crap no one else wanted
arghhh
Before clean out

Took me all of 15mins...
In a crazed like state I just through things out with out thinking about it.

I have NEVER done a clothes cleansing like this. You know that skirt and dress you paid a fortune for 10 years ago...GONE. What about all the clothes from the op shops that you bought in a frenzy when you lost your weight AND have not worn!!!!! GONE. Then theirs the shoes 23 pairs I have thrown out, GONE.
Not to mention the hats....I don't even like hats! All the handbags I have collected over the years GONE....They were falling apart.

After crazed throwing

Much better.
Do I regret throwing 5 very large wheelie bin bags of clothes away? No... what I feel is embarrassed, embarrassed that I owned so much stuff....stuff that doesn't make me happy ...most of it I didn't like..
Now I love the items that I have kept they were the ones I wore all the time....I mean i don't go out that much any way.

After

I love my bedroom and am thank full for a my walk in robe that Bruce built me, now I'm not afraid to go in there.

Do you like my chair? a love seat I think you would call it.
My cleaver Bruce made it for our room from 2 old chairs, I need to make
some cushions for it yet but I love it.

I have been busy in the sewing room fighting the cat, I mean sewing haha

I made Charlie some clothes for his birthday with a Indian theme material.
They were a hit.

I needed to run to town on Monday and buy a new iron, ummmm came home with a over locker.
I have really wanted one for years and always been scared to use one, while I was in spotlight they were on sale for a crazy price...I knew if I didn't get one I would regret it....
Well I love it...

Went back through those bags of clothes looking for some I could refashion.
This dress was too high in the neck and choked me when I sat down, but I love the material...So I turned it into a skirt. The top I will hem and put back in the bag.

This top was a little short so I added some lace to the bottom of it, perfect now.

Have you ever had a major clothing breakdown? Or just me?
I want you too know I have no intentions of going out and buying new clothes to replace the ones I got rid of, that would defeat the purpose. No, now I will wear what I have and what I have, I love..

Glasshouse....

Hi All
Just a quick post to show you the finished
Glasshouse
.

As you can see we had enough windows to get it finished.
I have a couple of shelves in here with tomato seedlings, ferns and
geraniums.

A view from the outside looking in.

This is what it looks like from the back yard.

French doors make the front wall, the wooden ones are the door way.

Inside with the sun streaming in through the dirty windows. hahaha
they looked clean until I saw this photo.

I love my recycled glasshouse and am going to get a lot of use from it.
Have a great week end All

Recycling and veges.....

Hello all....
How has your week been? Busy I am sure. I thought it was time to update how the vege patch is going. I lost a lot of stuff to frost through the winter, but the carrots are doing so well. We are harvesting them daily for tea. Also we have so many potatoes they were a real success. The climbing beans got frosted but a couple survived as you can see on the trellis above. I have planted more seeds though.
At the entrance I have sweet peas growing, they are almost finished, in fact all my spring flowering bulbs and flowers are all but been and gone. I have planted a climbing as well on the week end, so it will soon cover this fence.
Above is the artichokes, lettuce, bok choy and asparagus growing well in the far bed. Closer are the red onions and new planting of potatoes comming through.
Now for some recycling
Try not to laugh to hard......
Yesterday when I got home from work I was told there was a surprise in the vege garden for me.
Boy was I surprised....my uncontrllable laughing may have been a bit mean I admit. Thankfully my Mother in-law was here and she was full of praise...Now this is recylcing at it's ultimite I think...Sink, from bins accross road.
Chairs( hahaha)also from bin accross road
pipe, taps and fittings all from shed.
One sink in vege garden for washing veges....
It gets better....
Look more chairs from bin across road...
This is going to be my potting bench, the bin has the potting mix in it, and the gate on top is used so that the potting mix can fall through to the bin and none is wasted. Now don't get me wrong great ideas....maybe you had to be there, but I really thought it was the funnist thing I had seen in a long time...Today I will get in and add my touch to it....
The wall of bottles is comming along as one and all drop there bottles of to me...
So what do you do with your old chairs???????????
Have a great day
and let me know what you think,
Truly what you think!!!!!!!!!

Do I drink to much wine..

That got your attention didn't it!!!

I have been keeping all my wine bottles and decided I needed to find a use for them.

What about a granny flat out the back?

and in the garden I could plant some bottle trees.

A pathway to the front gate, maybe?

A Christmas tree....
Most of the wine bottles are green so this maybe a goer.

Edging around the gardens?

I got it! a retainer wall wall in the vege garden, with a tower to look out over my kigdom.

To much to think about I'll just sit here a while to decide.

I may just have to go with the bottle trees I think.

Because one thing is for certain, I don't have enough bottles for a house. Maybe I just need to drink more...

Enjoy your day

Still in Yeppoon..

and loving it!!!!!!! yes I know I have to go home some time, but look at that sky and the blue water, can you see why I'm loving it.

Below is the whistling ship at Emu Point, this is where these photos are taken. Yesterday we went for a drive to check out the sites. The road here winds around the sea with great views around every bend which makes driving quite hard.
Tomorrow we are heading to Rainbow beach and staying there for Robbie's birthday on Thursday. The weather is supposed to get bad so we will see what happens. I would hate to have to go home just yet, but if bad weather sets in that's what we'll have to do.
Below is Cassie, Robbie and William getting some early morning fishing in, Greg would be very proud of Robbie as he had to buy the hooks and gear to set up the rods and did a great job. He had a good fishing teacher in his Dad. It's moments like this I realize how much we miss Greg as he would be of fishing all day with the kids, but he wouldn't have been camping that's for sure.

This fishing hole is not far from our camp site so I don't have to sit there with them all the time. Well I am going to drop by and have a quick read of some friends while I have the lap top charging..Thank you for all the well wishes for the new year, I know that it will be a good one.
Blessings Mandy

I'm heading outside....

I Awoke like a new woman today
No headache....
Though on the plus side I am well rested and have gotten a lot of
knitting done.......... But as soon as I've done this post I am going outside to stay....
I have some cabbages to plant out and leeks, beetroot, onions
and broccoli seeds to put into trays.....
I also found some Luffa seeds, I know that now is not the time to plant them,
but last summer I couldn't find them any where
so I grabbed them.
For the last two days I have said that I'm mowing the lawn ...
Well today I WILL get it done...
I also have to put new paper into the laying boxes for
the chooks and give there pen I nice clean out....
The paper shredder is one of the best investments
I have ever made......It was only $20 and I use it daily
I through no paper away as I recycle it all either for the
boxes or compost bins.....
I don't have to worry about tea tonight as we have
a community Barby on at the hall.......
This is always a good time to catch up with every one.
I like to help serve that way you get to
say hello to every one and also notice any new faces....

I hope you all enjoy your weekend,
and to my fellow Aussies
Have a great Anzac Day.
We will be going into Helidon for the march and then Saturday
night Alanah's Drama class is having a concert called
Salute To The Anzacs..

Blessings
