Around the house....

We have been busy catching up on odd jobs around the house.

This area between the tank and house is where we decided to keep the wood.

Cleaver husband made a gate under the house so the wood can be stored out of the weather and out of site, yet close for us to bring in.

Bruce hung some old stove doors on the house as this is the stove recess after all...and when

the gate is closed you wouldn't even know the wood is under there.

Bruce has also put irrigation to all the fruit trees, as this year with not much rain we

didn't get a very good crop of anything...

I just have to get in and mulch them all. It is so dry that we are spending a bit of money this year on mulch so we don't have to water as much.

Lots of work but worth  it in the end.

The geese do a good job of keeping it clean but they don't seem to like the marshmallow weed and it is a bitch to pull out...

A old bed we got from Chloe is starting to look nice now that the flowers are all coming out.

Mulch mulch and more mulch.

I have planted some grasses along the front of the clothes line deck to soften the edges

and pretty it up a bit. They will grow quite large and make a nice little spot for the birds to hide in.

Also been making some garden art....A large Angel.

Well it has certainly warmed up here now, Spring is here...

The vege garden has been planted up and seedlings on the go in the green house.

I will share that another time.....

The Vege Garden.............

The summer vege garden really doesn't have much in it as it is way to hot here.

Herbs are all doing well but that is about it.

I have been spending time in the green house as it is very cool. I have a grapevine growing over it as well so it is the perfect spot on a hot summer day when you want to be out side.

I took a lot of cuttings in spring and this week they have gone out into the garden.

Now I need to get in and take some more as it is looking bare in here.

 The lettuce and bok choy seeds I planted on Sunday are already up.

I have been growing my lettuce in here as it doesn't bolt to seed that way.

The glass is another shady spot in the late afternoon with grape vine growing on it as well.

The succulents love it in here all year round.

As you can see I took this photo mid day and it is very shady.

This is my most favorite spot looking out to the vege garden, at the end you can see the green house and how it is very covered in vine.

Most of the vege beds look like this one bare...I am getting ready to sow carrots in this one in a week or two.

Bruce has been making these mini glass houses and selling them as fast as he makes them.

Lucky we have a good supply of windows...

it does make it hard doesn't it.

We are really battling the heat lately in the garden and I am thank full I have a good under water supply for the garden....as we have missed out on most of the rain this summer...

Enjoying the Vege Garden.

 

So much for blogging....

 

What with school sports, gardening, catching up with friends, gardening

well the week just went.

 

 

 

The weather has been perfect for gardening, and once I started there is no stopping. Above you can see the roses are blooming out the back and the garden is looking like Spring with the warm weather.

 What else do you do with old shovels????

Why turn them into garden art of course. I can not take the credit for this as Bruce made it for me, well I did design it and find all the all the old shovel heads, but Bruce did the hard work.

I love it... O and the bush in front is a Curry tree that will grow to about 2 meters and give the table and chairs shade in the after noon.

 

The beetroot and carrots are nearly ready for picking and eating....

 

In the bottom level of the vege patch I can't seem to get grass to grow so I covered it all in bark chips and now it looks so much cleaner.

 



The peas are nearly ready to pick soon as well..

Tomorrow Chloe, Harrison an I are going on a trip to visit Jessica, Grace and Abby...

So there will be lots of baby photos when I get back....
