Holiday Update...

I have been on Holidays, which means a holiday from blogging as well.

We drove up to Charters Towers to celebrate a 61st birthdays.
David and Karen turn 30 and Mason 1 that's 61.

We all had lots of  fun while there.
Water skiing and tubing.

The boys got some fishing in.

We even got a feed of fresh fish one night.

Jessica,Lock and girls drove up,Chloe, Damien and Harry flew up.
Bruce, Robbie, William and myself drove up there for 10 days.

Not all together but those of us that was able to make had a great time catching up.

Easter Sunday brought the Easter eggs and lots of smiles.

David and Karen put on a breakfast for all those that came up for the party...

Most of us enjoyed our breakfast, but there where those that ....
well lets say they had a headache and stomach bug.....

Easter Monday saw us head home via Jessica's where we picked Alanah up from her 2 week shift at Roma.

We got home in time for William to be in our local Anzac March.

I enjoy holidays, but more so when surrounded by my children and grandchildren.
Thank you David, Karen and Mason for a great Easter break.....

The Party...

What a great Party!!!!!!!!
Well worth the 800 odd klms we did over the week-end.
Sisters
Driving out was alot of fun as a few of us drove out together,
lots of car swapping and storytelling going on.
I ended up with the boys of the family a couple of nephews
that like to tease the big girls.
It certainly wasn't a quiet trip out...
But a whole lot of fun....

Greg and Jessica

We decorated with balloons. Blew up about 70 with helium and
floated them in the roof of the marque. We
also had them around the tables as well.

Balloons in roof

The tables were just simple with candles and
flowers on them. As you can see the colour theme was
purple,pink and silver.

Tables.

There were about 8 tables.
Jess has a lovely big yard so there was plenty
of room to spread out.

Cake

How's this for a funky cake.
It was mud cake not real heavy and sickly either.
Love the colours and the way the21 sits in the top.

Speeches

Every-one had a turn of wishing Jess well.
Also a few tales to embarrass her. Not to mention a certain Aunty
that had drunk a bit to much wine and REALLY embarrassed
Jessica....For once it wasn't me....
Her boss also spoke and you could tell that they love her
and really respect her, which is a blessing for me in knowing she
is being looked after out there.

Cutting the cake

It was along and tiring week-end, but they always seem
the best ones when you look back.
Eldest son and wife couldn't make it down for the week end. Well they either came for the week end or come down over Easter. Coming at Easter
makes more sense as we all get to spend more time together.

Some of the family

Beside Jessica is her boyfriend Lachlan.

I know there is alot of photos, but son and DIL and friends
read the blog so I know that they will enjoy them.

Well I'm going to get a cuppa and see what the
rest of you got up to on the week end.

Blessings

Mandy

Daylillies

The clouds are low in the valley with a fine mist falling, there,s a chill
in the air that takes away the memories of the heat from the
week end.
A perfect day.
I love this weather, maybe it is because they are so few and far between these days. There,s some thing that says cooking and reading,
about this type of weather.

I hope you all had a great week end. It was so very hot here, Saturday was spent in the
cool of the sewing room. Being made from besser blocks it is very cool in there.
Saturday evening we had a 21st on.
It was a great evening, though it was late... My friend catered for all of the party on her own, (there were 100 plus) and did such a wonderful job. I had it easy all I had to do was set the tables........ Bronywn hired two girls from her daughters hospitality class and they did all the serving and most of the washing up afterwards.
I have to say that it was one of Bronwyns better ideas, as she was able to enjoy the evening.

Sunday was hot and sticky as well.
Went back down to Bronwyns in the morning, it was hard to leave as she has air con.
We sat around drinking coffee and catching up.

Chloe had a good time at Roma with her sister. Will have some photos later in the week
for you. So we all had a big week end around here.

The photos are of the different day Lilie's I have in the garden, that I said last week I would show you. Bit late, though.
This is the first year I have had alot of them in.
The double yellow below is an old one. Also the dark red one.
As they mostly have come from the markets I don't have the names of any of them.
I find day lillies are very drought tolerant, I never water them at all!
Once they start to grow they divide well and flower within 12 mths.

I have a busy day ahead of me today.
I have been up early and got the floors vacuumed and moped. Beds are made and washing done.
I have to be at my Mother in-laws by 9;30 this morning as we are getting screen doors put on her house so she can leave the doors open.
Then I will be picking the children up from school as we have to go Birthday shopping for
Hubby.
Tuesday I am going out to Cooyar as that is were my parents live and I am off to spend the day with them. They have just got back from a Sydney trip. So there will be lots to talk about.
Welcome to my new readers.......and thank you for all the wonderful
comments that you leave, I so enjoy them and reading all your wonderful blogs.
