Hello again.......

Life has been a little busy here in the Storey household....just like yours I'm sure. Every one I talk to has the same complaint....life is too busy and there is not enough hours in the day to fit it all in...Well school holidays have started here for the next 3 weeks....This always forces me to slow down and spend more time at home with the children. The boys are wanting to go fishing....this time of the year we always went on our family holiday with Greg's family fishing....I never did enjoy going to the coast in winter but it was Greg's holiday and they all enjoyed fishing...So Robbie, Will Cassie and I are going to go to good old Caloundra for a couple of nights....I am hoping I won't have to do to much fishing as their Uncles will take them out..but then again sitting on the boardwalk watching them all fish will be relaxing....( OK now I know I need a holiday when I am thinking that fishing will be relaxing)
Last week I had my eldest daughter home for a few days...Girl time..... it was so nice having all four of my daughters here with me....lots of laughter and stories were told..Having family around really is the best medicine for me......Now all I need to do is to get No 1 son home for a visit....

I am looking forward to catching up on my favourite blogs while I am away..as the only computer I have been near in the last couple of weeks is the one at the workshop...

I will blog from the beach about all the fish we are catching......I mean they will be catching....But now I have to go and find fishing rods and tackle boxes......also explain to William that.... no, we are not taking the boat to Caloundra....... yes, I know Daddy always did....... and no, I don't know how to drive a boat......... yes, I am sure that you and Robbie could drive it, you are just not allowed to......Did I say relaxing.....who am I kidding....

Felting..................

I hope you fellow Aussies had a wonderful long week-end.
Ours was the usual soccer on Saturday, but on Sunday we snuck off to the beach for two days.
No photos though as I need to get a new camera and Cassie had hers.... So instead I thought I would show you what I made at my felting course last week.A hand bag and scarf. I made the scarf first and bag to match... Just need to go somewhere other than work to wear them....I enjoyed felting, I think it is the process, doesn't take a lot of thinking so for me it was really enjoyable and realizing. I am definitely going to be more of this..So much quicker to felt a scarf than for me to knit one....
The gold is silk and it came out lovely laid over the wool. Just adds that little bit of bling to it, and we can never have to much bling...Next time I am going to make a hat, I would like to make a bigger bag as well for every day use...

But not today as I have to head into work...and it is a wonderful sunny day outside, so I will be getting what I need to get done quickly and coming back to spend time in the garden...
Enjoy your day
Mandy...

The Bed..............

Here it is................

My new bed and under all those layers a new mattress...

One of children told me that it is sad when the most exciting thing to happen in my life is getting a new bed.............Clearly that child hasn't been sleeping on the floor on a 23 year old mattress..This is exciting News..... I am actually looking forward to bed of a evening ......and..........I am sleeping all night with out having a breakfast of panadol for the aches and pains I wake up with..I new I needed a new mattress just didn't realize how much till I slept one night on this little beauty..
My new bed is so sweet and just what I wanted for my room...All I need is a paint job in my bed room and it will all be new....That will have to wait a little while though....
Yesterday I had a great day out learning to felt....I will post some pictures of what I made latter in the week.....Today I have Robbie home who swears he is sick.....I think I have been had again.....I have to go up to work soon so he will be sitting around the cold workshop and wishing he had gone to school..........

Blessings to all
and have a great day what ever you are doing....

Look what I saw.............

Today for just a little while the sun came out.......
The first time in about 2 weeks, but alas it didn't last long and the clouds and drizzle was back.
Just a quick post to say HELLO.....I have to say that working is interfering with my life. Not as much time to blog or garden. Actually not a lot of time for much else at all!!!!!
Alanah is home from Canada and is very happy to be home....Last Sunday she was 18.........I now have 4 children 18 and over. Boy no wonder I am feeling old...........I am!!!!!!! Today Alanah has started back at work at her old job at The Cheesecake Shop....Will take getting used to again I am sure....The house has been very quiet the last few months but that is over now.........Just joking it is so good to have her home again, Canada is just to far away I think.
Tomorrow I finally go to get my new bed and mattress........I am so looking forward to sleeping in a bed again....I just have to figure out how I'm going to get it up the stairs and into my room......Then put it together.....Will post photos when I get it all up..
Till next time......( and it won't be so long)
Blessings

A Quiet Friday.................

Today it is raining....Not the heavy kind just a steady misty shower. The kind of Autumn days that I like.....So I have the fire roaring and the house is warm and smells like toast....After all the house work work is done I am going to sit and do some more of this (knitting) I just know that it will be a slow day and I am going to enjoy every moment of it.....
I do have to go to Gatton later to look at mattresses as I have bought a new bed and now need a mattress for it....The price of them though!!!!!!!!!! I also will do my grocery shopping in Gatton. If the rain keeps up there will be no soccer tomorrow as the council will close the fields....you can here the disappointment in my voice at having another day home tomorrow....Keep that rain a coming is all I can say..
I hope you all enjoy your weekend what ever weather comes your way...
Blessings

Enjoying Autumn.....

I am enjoying the cooler days, makes gardening a pleasure doesn't it. I have even decided to enjoy all the leaves that keep dropping as soon as I rake them up. This area down the side of the house seems like it hasn't been leaf free for ages...Mornings are getting harder to go to work, after I drop the children at the bus I either go out to the garden or if it is windy and cold I sit in my wonderful sitting room... This is the first winter this room has been used as a sitting room, remember it was the dinning room...It gets all the morning sun and on cold mornings I sit here with my cuppa and knitting...So getting to work later and later, never mind...
Some exciting news around here............Alanah is coming home.............she arrives on the 28th of this month..So this week will be spent getting her room ready .....A certain sister that refuses to admit that she has missed her is going down to get Alanah from the airport....I think that may be all 3 are going to meet her....

Well I had better get to work, boy it is cold in the work shop, would rather be home gardening or knitting...
Blessings to all

A Day At Home......

Yes that's right home all day and do you know what I have done so far.....
Nothing really.
Checked my emails, wrote an email to my 4 kids living away from home, and then checked up on them all through face book....Now I wonder what I would be doing if I didn't have the computer. O and now I'm blogging....
After this though I have so much housework to do....I am looking forward to the slow rhythm that pottering around does for me...Pottering I think I am to young to be pottering yet....
This photo above of William, Cassie took it on the week end...A real farm boy grass in mouth and that stand, my goodness it is Greg all over...

The boys are busy making motor bike jumps, every spare minute is going into this project..Boys and bikes, bikes and jumps, jumps and broken bones...Well that was the way it went for there older brother.....But that's boys and I love sitting up at the Dairy watching them....

Soccer is in full swing again, so tomorrow is spent cheering the side on....Am having my Mother in law for the week end...It does her well to be around us plenty to keep her mind active....
Now I must go and find my kitchen benches and floor....
Blessings
Mandy
