Travelling Granny...............

Hello to those that still follow me...
Ever since I closed the shop I have been away spending time with the Grand children.
Bruce and Will call me the Travelling Granny.....

I spent some time in Glen Morgan with Billy and MacGregor, as Cassie was not well.

I am so pleased I am able to now and go out and help my children when they need me.

When I got home it was time to give the caravan a good clean and make over.
I decided to make the van more me. Lots of vintage sheets to add color...

New cushions and a wall hanging....An amazing macrame curtain and I was happy with how it all came together.   Then it was time to hook up and head north to Charters Towers.

We were going to stop the night but Bruce and Will decided we would drive straight through.....
All going slightly stir crazy by Belyando Crossing, which is 2 hours from Charters...

We got there just on sunset, so good to see my big boy.....We spent a week looking after Mason and Phoebe as Karen was away with netball. O how I loved spending this time with them...

Then it was back in the van this time with David, Karen, Mason and Phoebe. First stop
The Beach...We spent 10 days together holidaying....

Road tripping..

Beach walking, cave exploring and lots of relaxing....

3 weeks we spent up north and I know for sure it is some thing I want to spend more time doing.

Back home and then I took Mum out to Warwick for Jumpers and Jazz....

Next stop

Goondiwindi........It was friendship day at Abby and Graces school so I went out to enjoy the day at school with them....I was only there 3 days but it was nice to spend time with them...

So you can see why the boys call me the travelling Granny hahahaha....
I am home for a while now as I also have to be Mum to Will who is still at school. This handsome young man is half way through year 11 now.....Time where has it gone....

I hope you enjoyed that Quick tour with me....I will leave you with some pics 8 year old Grace took of her self on my camera...These will be kept for her 21st hahahaha

RESTING..........

Resting,
yes I do believe in my last post I said I needed to
REST.
Well for the last 2 weeks that's what I've been doing...

It was a beautiful Sunday and Bruce and I were out clearing up the farm
burning some piles of palm fongs and cutting wood for the winter.

Just enjoying the beautiful sun and
stacking the firewood into the ute when BANG.....
Just like that my knee locked up....

My doctor said the injury was like a footballers, never seen one so bad.
Torn and damaged ligaments and tendons... Also blood clots OUCH

So as you see lots of rest too much rest.
I am leaning to be still, not easy for me.

Bruce and William have been amazing in helping me and I am now
able to hobble with the aid of a walker { never thought I would say that }

A little funny I put up on my Instagram stories yesterday...

Well been sitting at the computer as long as I can, so back to resting my leg.
Have a great weekend all...

One Month...........

Time flies
One month ago we closed our shop..
And I haven't stopped since....
See why here

The Sunday I closed the shop I got in the car and drove out to Gundy to spend some
much needed time with these 3.......
What fun we had, we just spent time together........

Then I got back and it was Easter...

Good Friday was spent fishing, this tradition is being passed on to our grandchildren now.....I don't like fishing but all the kids do, so I am happy to sit and watch.

Easter Sunday saw Billy have his first taste of Easter eggs...

Loved having the little ones here for Easter all camped out.

After Easter Cassie, Ben and Billy stayed waiting for the new baby to arrive.

MacGregor Benjamin
arrived on
27/4/19

MacGregor is named after his granddad..
He is also No 12 grandchild. Crazy to think that Greg has been gone 10
years this year, he would have been the best grandfather ever......

I went out to help Cassie and Ben settle in with there 2 boys.
Spent lots of time cuddling up with the boys.

I am home now....

Wow what a month it has been. Exactly why I gave up the shop so I could
spend more time with my children and grandchildren.

And in the garden of course....

Plenty to do out there but that is for another post...

Blessing to all

Vege Garden.............

Considering the heat wave we had last week the
vege garden is doing well.

With the spring rain we had and now hot weather every thing is growing.
Tomatoes are ready for picking... The lettuce bolted though and I am waiting for the new ones to grow a bit more.

The leeks and onions are nearly ready to harvest as well.
We have had purple snake beans all winter and they keep self seeding so
we are getting a never ending supply of them.
The zucchinis are also being picked and these little round
yellow ones are perfect for burgers.

All of our veges seeds are heirloom so I find that they continue to self seed. I always
leave plants to go to seed. I have not planted lettuce for ages as they pop up every where.

Grapes..

We use grapes as shelter in the vege garden.
The green house and glass house below benefits from the vine growing on them and it helps to keep the seedlings cool in mid summer.

The grape vine we are training as it will then shade the strawberries and asparagus...
We also have a trumpet vine growing ,but this year I think the grape will be big enough.

A window to the garden beyond.

Grapes are so small but they are every where. It looks like
it will be a good season this year. I can't wait to have enough to make wine!

We also grow our grapes all around the vege garden which makes for a cool micro climate in the middle of summer. This is important here as we are still in spring and have already had 40 degree heat 3 days in a row.

What are you growing and harvesting atm.....

This afternoon after work I am planting apple trees, but that is a post for another day..

Enjoy your week end...

Around the Home...

First up I had to share this....
It was Grandparents week last week and this was set up in the shopping center.
Here I am with the Sutton babies.
Harrison, Sienna and Madison.

Speaking of Grandchildren (AGAIN I KNOW )
but.....Christmas is not that far away when you have 11 grandchildren and 11 children
to organize pressies for.
I think this is the first time the sewing machine has been out in 6 months.

Instead of wrapping the presents I am making bags for them to go in.
That way they can be reused. These are for Mason and Phoebe in Charters Towers.
Mason loves Lego and Phoebe loves destroying it on him. I promised him
I would get Phoebe pink lego so she might leave his alone. hahah
So one bag down 10 to go !!!!!!!

Thursday is baking day.
I bake for my shop here so it is always fresh each week.
All left overs go for the boys morning teas that week.

The vege garden has gone mad and every thing is growing.
This was last nights salad. I only pick what I need daily.

I can't wait for these zucchinis as I have plant 4 different heirloom verities this year that I can save the seed from.

The daises flowered all winter and were the only color we had, this
is the last pic before I gave them a good hair cut.
I love the daisy such a simple beautiful flower.

Have a great week....
